I keep seeing a glass compartment on London Northwestern Class 350s, can anyone tell me what this is or was please? It is situated next to first class but I have only seen it on the class 350s with unrefurbished blue(?) seats. I have only seen it with blinds down as in the photo I took below.

I've seen stains on the TPE 185s not too long after refurbishment. I agree about northern interiors though as most look uncleaned when I've travelled in the past months.

9 times out of 10 when getting on at Stockport the trains are too crowded to get near my reserved seat. I learned a long while ago that if using TPE then it's always better getting on at Piccadilly but making sure I'm on the correct part of the platform for the carriage with my reserved seat...

Its hard to believe how the routing process is so indepth and complicated just to get from one place to another! As the thought of a full and standing TPE train from Stockport to Sheffield in the evening peak makes me stressed just thinking about it, I'll stick to Crewe via Derby on a class 153.

I saw a 3 car TPE 185 going into Piccadilly lunchtime today, platform 3 I think. Absolutely packed down all the aisles with standing passengers.

Was strange hearing 'intercity service' mentioned in the on-board announcement on my 222 today. Seen quite a few trains this week still in East Midlands Trains livery yet.

This is why I avoid TPE unless absolutely desperate between Sheffield and Manchester - constant overcrowding and 6-car trains so rare. Give me a northern pacer any day on this route!
