The first mention of it I saw online was at 7.15am as I was trying to get to East Croydon..
I have a question.. Is the deadman's switch a push down or is it a 'hand on' ?
With the push down if someone were to slump onto the control would the tram still continue?
Ok Beckenham Junction(which is in Bromley).. There was a post on one of the first 6 or 7 pages which suggested that.
I've never felt unsafe but did notice the very sharp bend and also that it feels faster than 12mph. It also makes a heck of a noise...
My first thoughts yesterday was that...
I live just of Addiscombe Road and it was raining very heavily yesterday morning.. Went to walk to the bus stop and saw a lot of Ambulances and Unmarked police cars going up the road.. Thought something had happened and there were no buses so I thought I'd walk up to Sandilands and catch a tram...
Oh Joy! I was stuck in the fun and games on Friday night from Luton Airport Parkway and then the back up North on Monday morning...
Not a bad a day as the people I spoke to on Friday evening.. They were unable to get their flight to Rotterdam from LCY. They then tried to get a flight from Luton...
Has anyone noticed that the indicator boards at East Croydon show entirely spurious information.

And a Gatwick Express train!
This was on strike day as well so feel sorry for anyone jumping on this train and ending up in probably...
Hoped to catch the 16:13 from Luton Airport Parkway to Brighton class 700 yesterday that was run on Monday.. Instead of this 12 car marvel of technology it was a 4 car clapped out 319 which got very crowded at it's first stop in London.. Oh well... Will try and catch a 700 in a couple of weeks...
London To Delhi to do a restore from a tape I was carrying in my top pocket.
Early Morning to flight LHR to DEL.. 30 min tape restore.. Back on the evening flight DEL to LHR.
Back home stupidly late and back in the office first thing the next day.
Repeated again the next week but to BOM this...
Yay!
Caught my first class 700 from Luton Airport Parkway to East Croydon Yesterday at 16:13 (ish)
First impressions:
Got on and was surprised by how much open space there is on them.. The interior looks like everything was just bolted on at the last minute..
There is plenty of space for...
Boris was probably not expecting to win and didn't have a strategy as he didn't expect he'd need one.
He's in the worst possible position.. Having to do the dirty on the Union and deal with the potential fall out when things start going South.
Have a read of this:

Only the Train operating company may pursue the byelaw through the courts, not the ppc..

The railway bye-laws and Private Parking Companies is a whole can of worms. There's quite a few posts on Pepipoo regarding these.. Lots to do with the POFA Act and who has the authority to take someone to court over an unpaid parking ticket.. It's a lot to do with whether it is relevant land...
Well that was easy.. Explained the situation to the gateline staff at Luton and they let me straight through.
One of the few times on my journey to Luton and back that my ticket has not been checked on the train as well..
Thank you Thameslink for being uber sensible :)
The story is thus.
I regularly buy a ticket on a Wednesday from a boundary zone to Luton for travel on a Thursday from the same ticket office every week.. Did so yesterday and was joking with the staff and didn't notice that the ticket was mistakenly dated for the Wednesday.
Got on the...
I don't know too much but there's a lot of things that could happen.. none of them good.
Do you live in Taplow and work in London? If so they will be very suspicious that you have a travel card for zone 1 and 2.. Is the station unbarriered at Taplow?
They will possibly ask for your version of...
The problem is that the project will probably cost twice as much and take a long time to build. I remember seeing parts of the Konkan railway being built and that took almost a decade... In the time it takes the bullet train to star, the large Lo Cost carriers like Go Air and Jet will be able to...
As per this..

The cost will be around £10bn. Surely it would be better to invest in air travel.. especially at that distance? Is there even a demand to link those two cities?
There's already 16 flight a day and they take an hour and a half..
Of...
Or have a strip along the platform edge that lights up according to where the train is going to stop. OF course it relies on the train not being short formed and it actually stopping where it is supposed to!
On another note of behaviour.. What are the point of priority seats? People ignore...
Ticket checked this morning Northbound near Harpenden.. Strangely all the ticket checks I have encountered Northbound or Southbound have been near Harpenden.. spookylll
