Cheapest way to travel from Sevenoaks to Canary Wharf 3 times a week at peak?

Depending on where your workplace is if you use the DLR route, South Quay, Heron Quays or West India Quay might be more beneficial than Canary Wharf. West India Quay though on homeward journeys you might have to change trains at Canary Wharf anyway, as services from Bank to Lewisham don’t stop...

Southampton to Brighton this weekend (Sat-Sun return), is Clapham the only sensible route?

My friend who drives for Stagecoach at Worthing and Chichester has confirmed recently the through Portsmouth to Brighton and vice versa £2 tickets are still available

have i been charged the right fares??

In afternoon as long as you touch in before 4, you get the off peak fare, and from memory Gatwick to London has no PM peak time restriction on oyster or contactless. I think the way to “break” the OSI is to touch out on tube gateline, turn around and touch back in, then go through, turn around...

Mitigating circumstances - I boarded the wrong train on platform leaving me stranded

The train the OP boarded to Morpeth was a Lumo service whilst they were waiting for an LNER service, so not sure how that mistake happened, but unfortunate. I can’t find any proof of a cancellation at Morpeth at around that time? Which train was it that was cancelled? There were two trains to...

    Train spotting for juniors

There’s a group called Transport Sparks on Facebook that might help, lots of younger enthusiasts on there, mainly from London and Home Counties but many further afield too

    Southern Class 313 withdrawal/storage/scrapping updates

Looks like 313211 might be forming 1345 5Z57 to Lovers Walk, which I think means the end on the West Coastway

Crawley to Ryde (inc. Isle of Wight ferry)

Yep that’s a common trick, or try Portsmouth and Southsea to Ryde St John’s Road via hovercraft I travel to island regularly from Crawley, but a period return is so steep, my Bluebell Railway volunteer colleague told me to do a period return to Portsmouth each time and have a 10 single journey...

Clever ideas for complicated trip (Oxford - Diss - Attleborough - Chichester - Pulborough - Guildford)

Ye Yep I get 377s daily but I think suspension is a bit rough on them at times. Always worth knowing backup options hence why I mentioned it

Clever ideas for complicated trip (Oxford - Diss - Attleborough - Chichester - Pulborough - Guildford)

Yep, although of course you could leave earlier. Certainly worth bearing in mind if the trains are having disruption though 1677175868 It’s usually Enviro 300 or 400 on the 60, and Enviro 200 or 300 on the 1. I like Enviros far more than Streetlites, sadly my local depot has 24 of them

Clever ideas for complicated trip (Oxford - Diss - Attleborough - Chichester - Pulborough - Guildford)

Chichester to Pulborough can be done by bus too, with current £2 single fares, the most it would be is £4. You take a 60 to Midhurst then a 1 to Pulborough, which would mean leaving at about 0940, or the 99 to Petworth (less frequent) then the 1. Pulborough to Oxford you could save another quid...

Last RailAir Cancelled - Getting A Taxi Refund

Looking at bustimes.org, it backs up that the coach broke down on the way to Heathrow, it actually got to the Compass Centre, and it does seem like it was not replaced. Of course being in schedules I know about drivers hours, however I do agree with you that reasons like that don’t justify not...

Last RailAir Cancelled - Getting A Taxi Refund

However the last service should run, late if necessary, so I would certainly put some weight behind that as well in your complaint. However lately with driver shortages I think the operators are being let off quite lightly, however a breakdown they could’ve replaced, the RA2 can run with buses...
