    Leeds station improvement updates

Some original 1930s mouldings and decor has been exposed above the entrance to the North Concourse. On another note and apologies if this has been covered in a previous discussion but with regards to platform 0, are they bringing the line further down towards the multi storey car park or...

    LNER Azuma (Class 800/801)

Just endured my first journey on one of these things, disappointment is a word that strongly comes to mind. They are faster and have improved leg room (great as I am 6ft 2) but the padding is woefully inadequate and lacking on the seat backs. Really not looking forward to travelling on one when...

Class 141s - Why Such A Premature Ejection From Service?

We always used to get them from huddersfield to Leeds and the doors actually did blow open on Morley tunnel on a couple of occasions when an express flew past! One broke down outside Leeds station too once when we on it and it was hauled back into the station by a class 08...pretty exciting to...

Class 141s - Why Such A Premature Ejection From Service?

They were non standard in the grand scheme and narrow with a limited capacity. I suspect their mechanical played a part in their demise. They were great little things to me as a young enthusiast and I must be one of the few people who miss them

Portillo calls Grayling most incompetent of all time

I'm sure the local economies that benefit from the line and it's beautiful scenery don't think it's and white elephant, it brings lots of visitors to these areas. In my mind far from a white elephant as you say. Grayling however does seem a white elephant...he is utterly useless, just look at...

How are these station names pronounced?

Station announcement always say Foster but it should be Forster and as for Harrogate, it's usually pronounced 'arragat' but again announcements and 'posher' residents of Harrogate say Harrowgate

How are these station names pronounced?

As a person who's lived in huddersfield most of her life it's definitely 'Slawit' Frizinghall, Forster Square, Keighley and Harrogate often get mis-pronounced too
