Should TfL take over and rename Thameslink?

Probably better for GBR to take over London's rail lines

3rd rail infills and extensions may have a future after all…

Bimodes, such as the excellent FLIRT units currently operating in East Anglia, would solve that problem.

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

Thus causing a stink at Liverpool Street and putting off travellers as a result!

    Birmingham-Wolverhampton Problems 2-4-22

For a moment I thought it was a locomotive wheel arrangement.

Is there a threat to the present continuing usage of the UK landline phone system?

IMO it is the regulator which should be held responsible. Ofcom knew full well about the issue of loss of service due to power cuts, as it was brought up on many forums, yet it failed to insist on a proper solution.

Fantasy: Cromer to Sheringham. Should the North Norfolk completely take this section of NR over?

So if you miss your train, you'll have a long wait for the next one!

Fantasy: Cromer to Sheringham. Should the North Norfolk completely take this section of NR over?

A snag with regular running between the two stations at Sheringham is the level crossing, a complete PITA.

Fantasy: Cromer to Sheringham. Should the North Norfolk completely take this section of NR over?

Great idea, seeing that this part of the coast is eroding away!

    TFL & "Managed Decline"

In BR days a pal of mine complained when he missed his train at London Bridge because it had departed before its booked time. He was told that it was Southern Region's policy for trains to depart early during the evening peak!

Flooding at Haddiscoe (Norfolk) - unit trapped (30/01/22)

Doesn't that mean the track was last replaced in steam days?

Greater Anglia makes further changes to its weekday timetable (from 10th January 2022)

Hold them over the coals? But what about Climate Change?

Cities and large towns that should have a tram, light rail and/or metro system

An extension of Volk's Electric Railway perhaps?

Alstom and Hitachi now announced as winners of HS2 rolling stock supplier contract

Thank goodness for the reduced journey times, if the seats are going to be as uncomfortable as those on the GWR trains.

Eurostar brand to remain post-merger and to be complete in three years

Isn't one of the reasons for the high fees charged by Eurotunnel the speed differential between Eurostar and the shuttles? I would thave thought that the impact on Eurostar's schedules by going a bit slower in the tunnel would be fairly minimal.

    Holborn and the Aldwych Branch

Bank can be reached via the District/Circle. Waterloo can be reached by changing at London Bridge or Elephant instead. W&C would be slower as a result.

Trivia: aptly named stations, in a literal sense

That reminds me of that famous institution, The Dogs Home, Battersea, Isle of Dogs, Barking, Berkshire.

    Great Central mainline closure

How much of the route is being repurposed for HS2?
