West Bromwich to Wolverhampton Low Level

Would anyone on here know what the last working was on this section of the line (between Wednesbury and Swan Village)? I presume it was to the coal yard but there may have been an engineering train of some sort.

    37800 at Soho LMD

Just noticed ROG's 37800 at Soho LMD today when i passed. It was there Friday but i didn't get a good view and thought it was 37884. It is sitting where the 08 usually is. Have LM hired it in for some reason?

TOPS Requests (including headcodes, allocations, traction, etc) [Instructions in Post 2]

After further investigations it seems it was 37884 in ROG livery. Must have been on a stock move.

TOPS Requests (including headcodes, allocations, traction, etc) [Instructions in Post 2]

Passed by Soho LMD earlier and daw a Class 37 in the siding. Looked like it was attached to the transition carriage. Didn't get the number and didn't recognise the livery either. Can anybody find out what it was?

    Harborne branch

When going out of New St towards Wolverhampton i often glance at the bricked up tunnel entrance for the Harborne branch and wonder how on earth trains managed the incline and the curve to get up there. Must have been some difficult moments surely?

West Bromwich to Wolverhampton Low Level

Thats great viewing there! The Flickr album bought back a lot of memories. I used to slide down the grass bank by Hill Top tunnel on cardboard! Lost count of the number of times i walked through the tunnel too. After all track had been lifted of course! Many happy hours spent over there in the 80's

West Bromwich to Wolverhampton Low Level

Came across these pics on a Flickr site showing some wonderful scenes if this line in 1979/80. I was thrilled to see views of the sidings of Black Lake coal depot as i have never seen these before. https://www.flickr.com/photos/railway_images/9128914345/in/photostream

Trivia: Most attractive out of London station?

Always liked being in the concourse at Bham Moor St. Feels and looks like a railway station.

    Lights on Roof of Pendolino

Good replies folks thanks. Are they going to be 'rolled out' to the whole fleet?

    Lights on Roof of Pendolino

Don't know whether these are new or i just haven't noticed them, but why is there a bright LED light on the roof of a Pendolino i've just seen at New St this morning?

Ticket Barriers At Birmingham New Street

I noticed this morning that metal railings have now gone up between Plat12 and the east bay. So no passenger/public access it would seem.

    BBC Trainspotting Live

Overall i'm liking the show. Usual annoyances with live shows but used to that. However i waa annoyed by them not showing the Class 37 moving off. I wanted to hear it pull away and i wanted to see that presenter getting a face full of clag for good measure!

Disused or mothballed railway lines with track still in place

It looks tight for that Class 70 in there!

    Willenhall Station?

If a station at Willenhall were to materialise, couldn't the current Wolves-Walsall service be extended back to Wolves to complete the 'loop' as it were and operate a 'circular' service starting and finishing at New St? I know the driver would have to swap ends at Walsall and Wolves though!

    Railway Stations Without Tracks!

I mentioned Wombourne and Tettenhall in post #89. I haven't seen the other three so dont know how well preserved they are. Is Wombourne still a cafe?

Disused or mothballed railway lines with track still in place

The branch to the former Coventry colliery (now Prologis Park) is still in situ but I don't think anything has ran along it for years.

Disused or mothballed railway lines with track still in place

Wombourne Branch between Brierley Hill and Pensnett still had track when I last looked a couple of years ago.

    Passengers with no manners

That may well be the case (pun intended!) Another annoyance is people like me who get on a 1st class carriage that is joined to a standard class to avoid waiting to get on, then walk through into standard before everyone else. I'm good at it, but its annoying if someone else thinks of it and...

    Railway Stations Without Tracks!

Wombourne and Tettenhall on the old South Staffs Line are nicely preserved platforms and buildings. Wombourne was a cafe, don't know if it still is.

    Passengers with no manners

My pet hate is most definitely the ones who seem to be taken by surprise by arriving at such a large station like Birmingham New St. So when you have stood aside to let others off and you finally start to get on, you are then suddenly confronted by a panting, rushing, panicky person dragging a...
