Delay Repay sent to wrong TOC

Given that the break of journey would effectively result in two notionally seperate journeys, wouldn't this result in a scenario where delay repay could only be claimed for one of those notional journeys given that you can only claim Delay Repay once per ticket? Setting that aside, you make a...

Delay Repay sent to wrong TOC

My intended itinerary was the following: London Kings Cross (KGX) to Peterborough (PBO), PBO to Thetford (TTF) and TTF to Wymondham (WMD). My actual itinerary was the following: KGX to London Liverpool Street (LST) by bus, LST to Norwich (NRW) and NRW to WMD by taxi. I chose to travel to WMD...

Delay Repay sent to wrong TOC

Hello everyone, I sent a Delay Repay claim which related to a cancelled LNER train to LNER who have told me that I sent it to the wrong TOC as my ticket was only valid on GA or Thameslink and Great Northern and not on their service, it was a London to Thetford via Cambridge ticket. I got a GA...

Is there a right to free water on long distance trains?

Why can't they leave water fountains on at stations when they are unmanned? Why can't they at least leave a disabled toilet open at an unmanned station? That would make sense.

Can a 16yo be pursued for travelling on a child’s ticket?

I would advise paying and then appealing against the charge afterwards.

Return ticket cheaper than a single

This reminds me of some fares on Greater Anglia where the anytime day single fare is marginally cheaper than an off peak day return fare but there is no such a thing as an off peak day single fare.

Is there a right to free water on long distance trains?

If the latter than not only would that be ridiculous, people may end up having to spend even longer without water. That might be extremely counterproductive.

Penalty charge notice sent to wrong address

The ticket inspector was wrong. A penalty fare won't be issued by post but an invoice for costs and the correct fare (or excess fare) might be.

Is there a right to free water on long distance trains?

One of the good things about Greater Anglia: they provide free water bottle refill stations at numerous railway stations.

    Wrongly Assumed Facts by Passengers

    The Gatwick Express doesn't!

Unpopular opinion: fully privatise the railways

I'm technically incorrect then but I'm sure that even Mr Marshall could see the error of Railtrack's ways whilst he was alive.

Unpopular opinion: fully privatise the railways

That was an epic fail. Just ask any of the victims of Hatfield. Even Steve Marshall can probably see the error of Railtracks ways. I'd say no, we should either leave it as it is or fully nationalise it but with privately owned open access operators permitted to operate trains.

    Requirement to find the guard?

Fair point. I take that bit back.

    Requirement to find the guard?

I would disagree, what if the guard is just hidden in a cab (or even in another unit) and is therefore not findable as a result? Then pulling the passcom would be incredibly silly, not to mention potentially dangerous as it will distract the driver from doing his/her job, especially if pulled...

    Requirement to find the guard?

Correct but what should I have done instead, pulled the passcom?

    Requirement to find the guard?

Alright sorry about that, I was being pedantic and I meant that in the context of there being an expectation to seek out the guard on every train. What if there is no member of traincrew or staff (apart from the driver) present? What if the guard is present but hidden in his cab? That reminds me...

    Requirement to find the guard?

What if it's a DOO train?

Who benefits from the Delay Repay scheme? Customers or train operators?

But you can get a refund on an Advance you didn't use if your train was delayed or cancelled right?

    Requirement to find the guard?

I accept it doesn't, I don't know if it has been tested in court and I don't know about any Act of Parliament but I will add that Byelaws 17 and 18 only requires that a ticket must be purchased prior to board if ticket purchasing facilities are available. It doesn't require purchasing one from...
