I don't have any, but I'm thinking it was the national passenger survey? More than confident more people would prefer at seat services so they don't have to leave their belongings / small children or risk their seat being taken by someone else. Research has shown most people don't want a "buffet" but would rather an at seat service. I do which people would let the term "buffet" reside where it belongs... in the past.

Google also is a nightmare for this. Type in any station and it'll start suggesting trains. It doesn't get its data from live feeds and thus is frequently wrong. People rely on it rather than an official app/ website.

What experience are you drawing this conclusion from? Everywhere I go, be it McDonald's or a cash and carry, uniforms are getting more casual. Just the other day I saw a few suit wearing people... no ties. Maybe those in the banking world of London still like ties, but elsewhere it's...

Is there a map that shows connecting lines like Aston to Stechford used for diversions? I seem to remember someone doing a map of the tube lines, highly detailed pdf, but wondered if there was one for national rail?

I think this is where things like this fail. I assume Chris Packham has just said "we shouldn't build HS2" and that's it? If he saw that HS2 being built was always the end goal and finding a solution based around that end point, he'd most likely have a lot more respect. But then people do this...

But you haven't compared fairly there. I'd suggest the majority of people do have a smartphone that is reliable and charged. Sometimes people make problems for themselves. I mean, do you walk around with your phone turned off? Is it so unreliable that you struggle to use it? Flip things...
