Disruption on HS1 due to signalling problems caused by flooding in the Thames Tunnel.

Please correct me if I am wrong but there isn't a Thames tunnel between Stratford and St Pancreas. The tunnel does go under the Lea at one point.

Intent to prosecute from Thameslink Railway on short fare

In this case full honesty is going to be the best policy. That means you doing a full audit of evasion and arriving at a figure. You definitely do not want a fraud conviction.

'Bumping' - is it becoming a serious problem?

Worth mentioning DLR have very few stations with barriers and I get asked for my card on almost every journey.

    Scotrail HST alternatives?

I'm surprised then that in the name of pragmatism they haven't suggested drivers wear crash helmets to protect themselves next time a tree enters the cabin.

'Bumping' - is it becoming a serious problem?

Must be a nightmare seeing Boris Johnson on a daily basis.

    New toilets at London Bridge

The Stratford toilets are an absolute disgrace. Combined with the lack of any toilets in West Ham station and Barking facilities often being closed and you have a toilet desert. Males at West Ham often urinate off the end of the C2C platform which will shortly be directly in line of sight of the...

Euston departure board to be moved

At Marylebone a couple of days back I used realtime trains to identify our train to the Midlands a good ten minutes before it came up on the screen. The platform info was also shown on Trainline. Paradoxically if people start keeping their eyes on their phones other advertising becomes redundant...

    Doctored railcard

Did they take a photo of or confiscate the doctored card?

Euston departure board to be moved

The departure and arrival board could be included on the front page of the stations WiFi access page and therefore theoretically accessible by someone who doesn't even have a data package or SIM card.

Train driver closed the doors on me purposely and laughed at me

My son and I did a personal record sprint last Saturday from Marylebone Bakerloo up the escalator, total dash across the forecourt onto the platform and the polite Chiltern platform staff advised us the train wouldn't open it's doors for us and was ready to depart. If we had got on it would...

Euston departure board to be moved

I wonder how long it will be before online options are promoted at stations.

C2C- Future Trainee Train Drivers and Shunters - East Ham and Shoeburyness (23/10/23)

The standard weekend timetable has two trains an hour going Barking. Stratford, Liverpool Street.

London Overground services missing out stops to recover the service

Perhaps if train announcements were restricted to necessary information people would interrupt their conversations to listen. All too often they are security slogans/ messages or statements of the obvious.

Possible £3,000 penalty for using ticket bought at station

Fraud Act 2006 offences can be heard in the Crown Court and therefore as no time limit is stated in the legislation there is no time limit for when a prosection may be brought. With summary only offences, ones that can only be heard at magistrates, the default time limit is six months. The six...

Or the hard of hearing or with limited comprehension skills.

    Use of discounts/fraud

No it isn't. The definition was changed with the introduction of the Fraud Act 2006. One of the primary elements for the offence is the use of a dishonest false representation. I am not sure using multiple email accounts is a false representation. However, if they have ticked a box saying they...

18 yrs old using a london day child travel card

If I were a case officer faced with that letter I would immediately escalate the case for full investigation. If I were a magistrate I would start looking for the heaviest of penalties. Just write a standard admission and apology without lies or excuses.

    The Times - HS2: The secret files that expose a multibillion-pound cover-up

Although I agree this is an expression of what many already suspected it does raise a whole raft of potential criminal offences if even some of the allegations are correct. This being the UK in 2023 they will probably never be investigated or prosecuted, with at best an absurdly expensive lawyer...

    HS2 High Salaries - Value?

According to the Sunday Times today some of the activities of HS2 have been extremely whiffy. https://archive.ph/2023.10.21-231326/https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/hs2-billion-pound-coverup-cost-files-investigation-skzv2nxwj

    Heathrow and £10+

I ended up tapping in and out at Hayes as had a few minutes to spare waiting for a Shenfield train. Unfortunately not in a position to report whether this was necessary to avoid the additional charge when using an oyster with annual zone 3 to 6 travel card. I suspect not. Total fare was £1.80 to...
