    Another Hull Train Damaged?

    Doesn't mean a thing. Why should a commercial hire deal through ETL/EuroCan that is technically nothing to do with the ACLG, be announced to the members?

    Another Hull Train Damaged?

    The two EuroCan Ltd 86s that are on lease to ETL are likely to be used in a common pool with the 87 and 87 wanabe, for a short period at least. More weird and wonderful paint frothing coming your way soon...

    Virgin loco-hauled service

    Presumably because the reservation system is set up for Pendo operated trains and for the short amount of time the LHCS is running, it is not worth modifying it. Also allows Virgin to earn more money out of the desperate people doing the Skoda day in day out...

    Best loco name???

    Any names from the 36 strong 'premier class' will do, but always had a liking for the names 'Thane of Fife' and 'Knight of the Thistle'.

    180 emerges from refurb

    It is 100% real, I can confirm that. I have seen a decent quality picture which proves it (although can't post it for obvious reasons). Looks rather nice IMO! They have branded them 'Adelante' in the same way that the 222s were branded 'Pioneer'.

    90036 to Brum for VWC 06/04/09

    No, he only produces during the validity of his free Centro pass. Still at least the skoda neds (all two of them) will be happy. 90036 is rateable apparently. Dread to think what it would have been like if 90021 hadn't deconfigured half way down from Crewe and worked the...

    More Carriages for NXEA

    Wrong. At present the plan is... 401-410 to FCC 411-420 remain with LM 421-437 to NXEA

    cwm & go railtour

    37411 has notices on the cab desks saying 'Power Unit Defective, Do Not Start.' Sums it up really...

    cwm & go railtour

    If that is the case, I'm struggling to see the benefit of reinstating 670 over say 410/425 which don't have Q-tron/OTMR and are pretty much ready to roll (unlike 670 which requires a lift). In addition, I'm reliably informed Q-tron is no longer manufactured as a system and I very much doubt DB...

    Another one bites the dust (fastline)

    Wonder if we will be seeing the OWNED fastline grids being set aside in favour of LEASED 66s. Sound like a familiar situation?

    class 60 versus class 66

    Happened at Newcastle to me too, once he finally sourced a spare key, driver was seen rather red faced...! oops!

    End of slam doors on lymington branch

    It is near enough certain that the slammers will be off the line by the end of 2009. Whether it happens at the timetable change in May or in December remains to be confirmed. Why bother paying for the heavy maintenance due along with the continuing crew and fitter knowledge, spare parts etc...

    NVR Diesel Gala Sunday

    Make it down eventually?! How very dare you, I was on site at 7am having driven down from the Ferrybridge area. A certain other person was sat in the secondman seat where I should have been sitting and having the sleep that I should have been having (after proclaiming he was too tired to...

    class 60 versus class 66

    I'm not quite sure which part of my previous post you are commenting about, however in reply to yours... On a personal note, I agree. However, at the end of the day (this applies to any company interested in the bottom line not just DBS), it has been proven that a 66 can keep to time (just...

    class 60 versus class 66

    60s are expensive to maintain and unreliable in comparison to 66s. It is also worth noting that the number of 60s we have in traffic now (14) is the number of diagrams that ACTUALLY NEED the superior pulling power of a 60 rather than are a 60 'just to make the numbers up' because there is nowt...

    'Issues' with 82101 was the reason for substitution. Bet that got all the skoda froth whipped up after they found out that 036 was on the train... :lol::lol::lol::lol:
