    FOC vs TOC

What he said. Getting your foot in the door is the hardest and most important part. Once said foot is in, just patience needed after that

    Trainee train driver

They wont tell you the score. You just get a pass or fail

Colas OTM driver operator. Rail milling

I've just joined Colas (in second week) as an OTM (tamper) driver operator. From the roster for LNW south that I have seen, its varied and you'll be all over the place where your machine is with varying hours depending on whether its light maintenance, or a transit move, or a shift operating...

Will you get drug tested for an admin position at an engineering firm?

Depends who you work for. I was an office based design engineer for Amey and got randomly tested a few times.

    Infuriating NR recruitment policy!

I once applied for an ATME role with NR, had the interview, didn't get it which although was disappointing, is something to expect when going for new jobs. Long story short, one of my friends at another depot told me, after I said I went for that job, it was only advertised so they could move a...

Colas Rail UK- Apprentice Train Driver

I'd agree with that. To be quite honest, training on OTMs is probably the safest bet out of the lot at the moment in the current climate. One of the reasons I chose to go in as a trainee OTM driver operator (start in a few week time).

    ATAVT - Vienna System

I would also say its important to stick to your gut reaction. Of memory, nearly everyone of them has a road sign in it. I certainly would not reccomend ticking them all as that would most certainly fail you, especially as each photo doesnt have everything in it. Personally, I found the vienna...

Also got the invite. Will decline since I've accepted a OTM driver position with Colas

Would you leave a stable job for a trainee drivers job in this current climate?

nope, they was also advertising for OTM driver. Never mentioned needing to be a qualified driver, mentioned needing psychometrics which I have, had a punt and it paid off 1601935307 You'd be safe with Freightliner in the south with them as they have arguably some of the safest contracts -...

    Freightliner Reading

I went for a DMI with them at Reading a few weeks ago and heard nothing since. I guess I should take that as a no from them

Chiltern trainee vacancies - (Marylebone / Aylesbury / Banbury)

Recruitment has been concluded by all accounts. Received the disappointing news this morning following a dmi.

    Trainee Driver - Freightliner

The ones I've recently done for FL were the M7SJT and VSE. I do have a set of psychometric tests under my belt but not sure if they were enhanced or not thus not sure if I have to have a go at them to the enhanced level for FL

    Trainee Driver - Freightliner

I also got an email with the same title and thought the same. Was pleasantly surprised to be told I passed them and I'm through to a DMI next week.

    Trainee Driver - Freightliner

Anyone had any feedback on their VSE and M7SJT? I know the email said give it 25 working days from the deadline, but I know of some people previously have had their feedback within a week.

Chiltern trainee vacancies - (Marylebone / Aylesbury / Banbury)

Assuming the DFFT is the cables and dials test, I did that with GWR last year

Chiltern trainee vacancies - (Marylebone / Aylesbury / Banbury)

Not had an email yet. I've already done the VSE as part of a Freightliner application. Did the DFFT with GWR.

Chiltern trainee vacancies - (Marylebone / Aylesbury / Banbury)

My portal is now showing 'Assessment'. I've already got the standard psychometrics tests under my belt. Am I correct in believing it is just the Group Bourdon I will have to redo to get the enhanced pass?
