First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

Looks as if a 4th Blue Streetdeck, 35124 has entered use in Bath in the 1 today!

35117 has now had some Bath Spa Unibus Vinyls added, along with the Euro 6 stickers.

Thing is, will the 171 still even exist post Covid? Remember that it was only introduced as a result of the combined 10 minute frequency between Norton & Bath. If the 15 minute 172/3/4 combined service comes back, combined with the 376 reverting to 1/2 hourly, then Wells should have more than...

I've heard rumours that Press Commercials messed up on the repaints, and put 69458 into Discover when it should've received BathCity livery. As such, 69448 has now unexpectedly moved up there to ensure that the intended 6 vehicles receive the BathCity blue. As for 47556 - maybe being badgered?

I notice this batch are painted in a rather nice non-standard livery. Perhaps Bath depot could recycle this into a new brand for one of their routes! (Maybe the 18/19 or 171/2). Certainly they appear to be in much better condition than the 10 MX58 B9s received last year from Bolton.

Have all of Bath's B9s had the conversion work done? If not then they will need it doing as they are Euro 4/5. However, this should be a fairly easy task. You also have the 3 Wessex Water E200s, although if these are being replaced, then they may not need converting. I had wondered whether 2 of...

I guess the vehicle appearing on the tracker in the afternoon was just an error while it went back to the depot again - thanks for confirming! This morning's dupe was done by 39491, probably the most convenient choice of vehicle for the working given its similar spec to the regular X39 fleet...

An interesting extra working has appeared on the X39 in the morning and evening peak (spotted info on the First Bus Enthusiasts Facebook page), which is there to assist traffic levels for Oldfield School in Bath, as apparently there have been some loading issues there. This working is done by...

I actually prefer the 47*** ones, but this is largely due to the fact that some of the 63***s that used to be in Bath/Westbury were pretty awful and sluggish. Personally the best batch are the 475**s with the micro-hybrid system installed, which can be quite nippy if you have the right driver at...

As far as I can work out, the current breakdown of the Streetlite fleet is as follows : 47435-41 - All at HE for the 8 47443/565/568 - At HE for the 8/72/72a 47444/447/552/553/559/567 - At LH for the 35/178/X8/X9 47442/446/544/554/555/571 - At BH for the 1/5/D1/D2...

32280 has been removed overly early by accident. It's still in use in Bath (today on the afternoon OS3 run). In addition it's possible, but not certain, that 008 is carrying 33950's ticket machine still. Supposedly that would've meant it was on this morning's OS5. On another note, have the...

An interesting revelation - 69446/7 have been painted, but into discover livery! This will probably allow 66726 & 66886 to be withdrawn fairly shortly!

I suspect old 007 may hang around along with the pink pair to form the allocation on the 20a/c shorts for the time being. The trio seem to have settled down on there, although 007 has been out on the U1 quite regularly of late as well! Of course, they may well get displaced by other vehicles...

Strange Bath working alert - 33950 on the 1! Only the second time I've seen a Uni MMC on there since they were delivered!

The choice of livery is largely dependent on where in the country it's being preserved. I'd say if staying in the South West, it may well go into the old orange uni livery, which it carried for a couple of years. On the other hand, being new to Bradford, it could be that someone up there has...

Quite a rare Bath working spotted this morning, 39005 in use on the 31. Not sure I've ever seen it used on there!

I think that might be because the E400MMCs are doing RR work from Parkway at the minute. It did indeed go back to Lawrence Hill, but only stayed there a week before coming back to Weston (according to the tracker, anyway).

That'd be BV20HOH, which I've seen a photo of working the exact same duty. Speaking of the Wells routes, 32336 has snuck over there, continuing its holiday from LH. It's unusual to see a loan from Weston to Wells rather than Bath! Clearly the shortages at Wells are still an issue, as 32008 &...

Unless it's a COVID thing to provide extra capacity out of Temple Meads in the evening peak?

The outbound in the morning has always been there, but this is the first time I've noticed there's now an evening service as well. I assume then that it was implemented at the most recent timetable change, as that particular service was one that used to originate in Weston.
