Apologies! I was referring to the services that passed from Southern to Thameslink last week, however I didn't make this clear.
The transfers have been discussed previously in the Class 700 thread, however for the record they are detailed at...
You may have a point there. The turn around time was a bit tight with arrivals at xx.18/xx.48 and departures at xx.27/xx.57; bringing the arrival forward to xx.15/xx.45 gives a more reasonable 12 min.
However, the New Cross Gate calls have been reinstated today with a WTT arrival at London...
I don't have an answer, however I was reviewing the first week of Thameslink (TL) performance on the Horsham route this morning and noticed that the TL services were subject to a short notice timetable variation (marked VAR on RTT) on Thursday/Friday. The result appeared to be just that they...
The stock for the Brighton cross country train was not serviced in Brighton (at least not in the last few years of operation). The stock arrived from the North 'in service' and the train engine was trapped at the buffer-end of the terminal platform. By using 09 026 to draw the stock out and...
The proposed May 2018 timetables can be found at https://www.transformingrail.com/download-timetables. There are some significant changes to Southern services (as well as introducing the first tranche of the Thameslink timetable).
There is a thread in the Allocations, Diagrams & Timetables...
I ventured out early this morning to see the first TL departure (in passenger service) from Horsham. 700145 did the honours on the 06.33 to London Bridge, so that's another FLU in use.
Timekeeping today has been pretty dire; the best TL service on the London Bridge - Horsham route arrived 8m...
Thanks for the update.
Things are looking up for my daughter; 1T11 has set back into Stevenage and appears to be in pole position on Platform 1 to be the next round the Hertford loop. A lot of passengers are not in such a good position.
My daughter is sat at Knebworth on 1T11 (17.10 Downham Market - KGX) which was due to arrive KGX more than 1.5 hours ago.
Southern end of the East Coast is littered with stationary trains and NR reporting a power failure. Anyone know what's going on?
Careful scrutiny of Real Time Trains provides part of the answer.
2C09 is formed from the stock coming in on 2C04, the 07.04 Three Bridges - Horsham; this originates as 5C04 from Three Bridges sidings. 2C04 is scheduled to depart from P1 at TBD, a couple of minutes after 2A17 (07.02 TBD - VIC)...
I wouldn't write Faygate off yet. Two developers have 'offered' new stations; one towards Horsham and one towards Crawley. NR have said that only one station can be accommodated on this line and neither developer wants to be seen to back down. I have seen no evidence that the DFT are anywhere...
I recall reading somewhere that all the BML diagrams (including Littlehampton/Horsham) were to be FLU's. That puts the wheelchair area in coaches 6&7.
I guess there must be a plan as Littlehaven was extended from 4 to 8 coach length a few years ago with the specific reason given as providing...
It appears that one of the FLU's that have been parked up in Horsham Field Sidings for the last few weeks has moved to Hornsey this afternoon (http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/O41081/2017/11/04/advanced). Presumably this is to provide additional units for Monday morning.
For those that...
There are normally no Sunday services from Brighton to London Bridge. The Bedford's appear to be running to London Bridge this Sunday as the core is closed and I would be very surprised if these were not 700's.
See...
This discussion has prompted me to dust off my old paper timetables!
I have the last(?) printed version of the GBTT - Dec 2005 to June 2006. Table 188 (BML + Branches) lists the following services:
06.02 LIT - LBG (d HRH 06.34)
18.34 LBG - LIT (d HRH 19.45)
These services called at...
I think the Littlehampton stoppers have been in the timetable for many years, although I couldn't swear that the station calls North of Horsham haven't changed.
The 06.33 from Horsham has always seemed a pretty useless service. From Littlehampton there's a faster train to London Bridge via...
There was a poster displayed at Brighton last week advising the change. I didn't make a note of the details, but I think the services changing operator (SN to TL) were as follows:
1B08: 07.32 BTN - LBG
1B13: 09.08 LBG - BTN
1B44: 16.42 BTN - LBG (Retimed from 16.32)
1B47: 17.57 LBG -...
Reliability does not seem to be improving.
I attempted to travel on 1W30 (12.05 Brighton Bedford) last Tuesday, however a shiny new 700026 was failed at Three Bridges after the fitters failed to resolve an unspecified fault. The unit was moved to Gatwick and presumably back to the depot...
Thanks; mystery solved!
I guess that Virgin control couldn't find another train to provide the Birmingham - Stafford connection.
Pity they didn't treat the passengers left at Rugby as well. We ended up on 1Y03, a LM 8x350, to Coventry where it was cancelled. Unfortunately the...
On Monday (15th May) I attempted to travel to Birmingham International on 9S47, 07.43 Euston - Glasgow. All went well until the TM announced that, due to a signalling fault between Coventry & New St, we would be 'waiting' at Rugby. The train was stopped at Rugby (P2) and after a few minutes we...
