I must admit on the countless visits to Llangollen Railway I have made I have not even seen a...

Something which has puzzled me in the transport world during the past 30 years.
Since the disappearance of British Railways we have seen some TOCs adopt the identities of the old railway companies - GWR, Southern, LNER.
However, in the bus world so many of the old operator names have...
It has been annouced that the Bridgnorth Castle Hill Railway which provides a link between the higher and lower town areas of the Shropshire town and Britain's only working inland cliff railway is finally due to reopen next Monday - March 4th.

Apparently someone attempted to start a fire at Penzance Station. The article has a photo of two broken windows in part of the building between platforms 3 and 4 and also police tape on the fencing near the buffers...
Apparently GWR Night Riviera stock is being conveyed between Penzance and Laira by road for maintenance by the well known "train truckers".
Looking at the location one presumed the driver took a wrong turning and tried to cross the A30 over bridge at the A30 / B3260 junction west of Okehampton...
A car collied with the parapet of the Prescot Road over bridge near Aughton early this morning. It was a good job this happened during the early hours as the outcome could have been quite nasty.

This was a very sad accident. People have walked along the sea wall for years - the "all options" comment is worrying as it might mean a popular vantage point might end up being closed off as a kneejerk reaction...
Apparently a car has crashed through a hedge and onto the tracks between Sylfaen and Welshpool Raven Square stations resulting in services being limited to Llanfair Caereinion and Sylfaen today...
Some interesting news - the VoR is to acquire the Brecon Mountain Railway.
Of course it was the Brecon Mountain Railway which bought the VoR from British Railways - though eventually the partners Peter Rampton and Tony Hills went their separate ways and the VoR became a separate entity.

Just reflecting on the fire at Luton Airport Multistorey Car Park which has been extensively reported.
I notice from photos that this car park appeared to be of the same light weight mainly metal construction as the Kings Dock multistorey car park in Liverpool which suffered a major fire in...

This is a ticket I have bought before online from the GWR website. Most recent one was purchased on April 24th, 2023 with a start date of May 8th.
However, the system now appears to only allow booking on the day and up to five...
Those using rail services out of Liverpool will probably be aware that the Liverpool to Crewe line passes over the Liverpool Ring Road Queen's Drive near Mossley Hill Station.
Construction of what was then known as the Queen's Drive Subway, as it was then known, was undertaken in 1914 and...
