    unadvertised first class

There are a few SWT 'Windsor Lines' services that are booked for non 'HC' Desiro units - we treat these services as 'Standard Class' only, i.e the first class is declassified.

    SWT 158's

Advance notice for Tuesday 11 June: 1L13 is due to be a 5 car formation (159 + 158) throughout, instead of the 158 being detached at Salisbury. (There is an open day at Exeter University, so presumably increased loadings being anticipated)

    Left stranded by TPE

My advice to any passenger who does not have a valid ticket before joining a train is to speak to the Guard before getting on the train, or to find the Guard immediately when getting on the train and certainly before sitting down. The vast majority of Guards will usually try and help a passenger...

    Left stranded by TPE

SWT Commercial Guards will take a postal order as a valid means of payment - it is now the only occasion on which the 'cheque' method of payment is used on the Avantix machine. Additionally please bear in mind that some Guards will probably struggle to give change from a £50 Travellers Cheque...

Problem with UK journey ticket purchased in Brussels

A UK issued FIP card makes no mention of it being available to purchase discounted tickets in the country of origin, only for overseas undertakings. Additionally, being able to use a FIP card in the country of issue would surely undermine any 'domestic' travel concessions. Do you carry your...

    Two Gold Cards

You as the cardholder need to travel with the extra passengers for the tickets to be valid. If everyone is to travel for the entire journey then it will be you + 3 passengers, not 6. What TOC are you considering using?
