The 1P31 Sundays was the 14.20 Euston- Blackpool/Carlisle due of Crewe at 16.52. Passing time given at Crewe Steel Works as 16.55, did not get to Warrington till 18.06 so must have gone via Chester but no times given there in public TT. Hope this helps.
The four-character train descriptions came into use on the WR by June 1960. So would have been in use from the start. They may have used the Tyers train describers to send descriptions to the next boxes though.
So will I, do we want to see class 800s at York and Reading all in the same colour, class 390s at Crewe all the same 810s on the Midland the same colours. BR in the blue and grey era was pretty dull. We have got used to many colours on the railway back, to mostly just one will get pretty boring.

Freight trains are often on time at Kettering North Jn. but have to wait for late running passengers both up and down before being let out on to the Mk. Harborough line
Might be something to do with the signal overlap at the top of platforms 1and 2, with a train signalled out of 2 a train for 1 has to be brought to a stand before getting a yellow into 1. Also passengers would have to cross over to 1, if you are halfway along 2 would have to walk up or down the...
Trains being held up by freight trains between Kettering and Kilby Bridge Jn. (Wigston) happens all time. I do wonder if when the 810s get going more will be sent via Manton.
I did buy a large and heavy temporary signalling panel for Hartford Jn. WCML at York for £30 about 1998. Took it back on the train to Leicester, just stuck it by the door on the HST at York to Sheffield guard was not happy! From the Euston place they were selling of some old black and white S...
Lumo and SR should be told they just have to wait until EMR gets all it 810. Why should 4 of the UKs larges cities put up with all this. You would not see this on routs like London to Bristol or S. Wales yet I would bet the population of the E. Midlands is bigger than the other two.
