    The Manchester book you show is the post war one. the pre war one is called the " The track of the 25's", that being the time of departure from St Pancras. £75 for that Coronation book mine cost me £6.

    I got my info from my set of GBTT's I've got the lot from the first all line TT in 1974 I got it the year it came out and got every one after that. they are all stacked up on a shelf. I think I need to get out more !:|

    Had a look the other day, the change to diesel power is about a mile north of Kibworth. Its about the same spot where Wistow signal box was, on the road from Kibworth to Wistow Park and Kilby village you can see the lower pantograph sign a few hundred yards to the North.

    The Bristol, birmingham, Derby route was up to Derby being the Midland HQ. With Derby soon to be the HQ of Great British Railways perhaps all line over the country should be up to Derby, the Midland wins at last:D

    Some of the semi-fasts ran on Sats. only to Leicester with the ECS then going empty to Derby. But with the DMU still running to Derby!

    Yes I have it too, the "Starting Something Big at Bristol" came from words on posters put up at stations telling people about what was going on.

    Kelsey's Pub. On Shed Vol 6 tells use that the 3 road servicing shed demolished and the new HST shed opened in Sep. 1981. The new shed went the full length of the depot, have a look on Google maps. The 2nd pic. cannot be the new HST shed.
