Again, are you comparing Arriva Rail North to the NHS?
To make a fair comparison ARN is like a Health Trust. The rail industry complete is like the NHS for this comparison.
One of the DfTs head men stated it. It's a matter of fact - unless you believe that the strike action on ARN is in...
Getting rid of a TOC will make the trains newer, staff more motivated and sunshine and unicorn farts eminate from the toilets.
TfW is for Wales only, and the English should curtsey everytime they are fortunate enough to share the same space as our cave dwelling chums.
Transpennie Express is...
Not meaningless at all.
It showed the mindset of the head honchos.
So it's reasonable for guards to think that once the strikes are over and doo is accepted that the next step will be for them to be made redundant.
How can you honestly expect them to trust the DfT/TOC's when people at the...
Are we comparing ARN to the NHS or the rail industry as a whole?
It's a bit like saying a hospital trust is the NHS, where as I clearly remember Peter Wilkinson of the DfT saying he will break staff.
I don't think any senior NHS staff member has come out and declared war on its staff.
Or written proposals on how to reduce staff numbers.
You are not making a reasonable comparison.
Well your incorrect.
I cancelled a service due to a shocking running brake test, 800 yards from starting up, fortunately I wasn't due to stop at Central, but wouldn't of been able to anyway,
A clean set of undies were needed after getting a zero reaction from the brake handle, and resulted in...
A quick solution would be to bin the unworkable TPE only timetable - revert to Huddersfield - Kirkby services via Vic and Sacrifice the famed 6tph.
Locals get a service that is workable, and you reduce the amount of delays caused by excessively long services from all shacks to Manchester.
It's wacker not whacker. I have heard it loads from old school Scousers. Like my Al man.
Liverpolian is for them NIMBY's in the south of the city who think because they have a park or two that they are bohemian. Generally lark lane types.
If Sunday is Peak time for travelling, then how about it is charged as peak rate all day?
And to address the myt weh about the NHS at weekends. Utter tosh.
It runs a reduced service. Try and get elective surgery on a weekend. It doesn't happen, especially on the Sunday. How many GP...
Who says the service is laughable?
It gets 3tph and rising, and the issue of what happens to the "tram train" when it hits the crescent is still unclear. It also allows through trains to Southport and Kirkby instead of changing at wallgate.
Also the OLE issue would be highlighted if and...
Tram trains are expensive, and offer little more than what the Atherton line gets now.
I don't get the clamour for it on the Atherton line. Its a very valuable diversion route to the wcml and would require lots of work for OLE.
Correct.
I have no idea what platform I am due on. I can take 4 platforms for through trains as the other 2 are bays for one station. It is complete pot luck on which platform I am signalled due to the current chaos in central Manchester.
I like my Sunday's off.
It's the only day of the week where I can guarantee to see my children.
It's the bit all the office workers dont get when baying for drivers blood for daring to refuse to work Sunday's.
Earlies - gone before kids get up and back home and normally too tired to do...
When you have members of the Christian church involved in law making and goverment policy then they can claim domain over others.
Especially since the head of the country is also head of the church...
Correct.
The running brake test is for me to judge how well/badly the train is going to stop, and allows me to judge where I am likely to start braking for the more difficult stations/speed restrictions.
But they do state trousers. So what you do with your smalls is up to you.
Furthermore the passengers won't know if your commando or not. Yet if you wear a badge it sticks out.
Uniform is not meant to do that. It is all meant to present a consistent image.
With the million and one badges...
I don't particularly want them banned. I have nothing against any of the above charities or organisations.
I would like to see all badges banned. Uniform is just that. Unless it is mandated to be worn then it should not be.
I did 2 Iraq 1 Afghan 1 Kosovo and a few Northern Irelands.
It's generally my stock answer to the eternally offended who question why I refuse to wear a poppy. I completely reject the need for the poppy appeal as a cop out by the state who's job it is meant to be to look after the servicemen...
I think people need to revisit history of they think the poppy isn't political.
It was brought in by Haig "the butcher" and his wife after seeing how the servicemen returning from a pointless war were treated by the goverment.
It was raising funds in lieu of the goverment carrying out it's...
