Not really, the OP posted explaining these services going to the 'same place', and the fast leaving at the time the stopper was due to leave... Therefore, the fast would have been cancelled and the train scheduled for that service moved on to the stopper - departing on time, in its slot.

Common sense and the railways sometimes don't mix... and this is obviously one of the situations where this happens! In an ideal world, that would be the solution, but this world often lacks pretty common sense thinking!

Here in Hartlepool, we have a bus service every ten minutes throughout the day from Seaton Carew in to the town, which gets cut off at 6.20 on an evening, there are no buses on sundays.

The thing is, there's places much worse off. People go to a lot of gigs in Newcastle/Sunderland and can't get home to Hartlepool after 10PM arrival at Hartlepool, despite being relatively close. However, coming from London, the last arrival is 10.30. It makes little sense, but it happens...

There was an advert in the Evening Gazette the other day so i presume this will happen.

It would be fantastic to have such a service though. Or even one which terminates at the MetroCentre and comes straight back down? Or if worst comes to worst, start/finish in Hartlepool Bay Platform heading southbound.

Was meant as a joke, but I don't see why some kind of spur could not exist to the Airport - then it gives people the opportunity to run such services.
