"Quiet coaches" : what constitutes unacceptable noise ?

Oh come on, most carriages on longer trains (where most Quiet coaches are) are of a reasonable degree of peace. It is not the be all and end all whether we have a Quiet coach or not... If you don't like a simple conversation, then get some earplugs or the likes - it is meant to be a good...

    Stoppers vs. fasts during disruption

Not really, the OP posted explaining these services going to the 'same place', and the fast leaving at the time the stopper was due to leave... Therefore, the fast would have been cancelled and the train scheduled for that service moved on to the stopper - departing on time, in its slot.

    Stoppers vs. fasts during disruption

Common sense and the railways sometimes don't mix... and this is obviously one of the situations where this happens! In an ideal world, that would be the solution, but this world often lacks pretty common sense thinking!

Yet Another Snub For Wakefield Residents - This Time Grand Central

The thing is, there's places much worse off. People go to a lot of gigs in Newcastle/Sunderland and can't get home to Hartlepool after 10PM arrival at Hartlepool, despite being relatively close. However, coming from London, the last arrival is 10.30. It makes little sense, but it happens...

    York to Huddersfield

I don't mind which type of train I'll be taking, as long as it gets me there by 1PM as it's for a University interview! I'll be leaving the station premises to go for the interview, which lasts around 3 hours sadly.

    York to Huddersfield

Hi all, Just wondered if there was anything cheaper than £17.20 return from York to Huddersfield for tomorrow, Tuesday 14th feb. I arrive in to York around 10.15, so anytime after that, and will be departing Huddersfield around 16.00. Currently don't have a railcard. Thanks!

    Football Hooligans - AGAIN

As far as I understand, it was a doubled up 142. This was replaced by a 156 which terminated in the bay platform to take people to Middlesbrough. Plea for witnesses (inc 1 picture); http://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/news/local/train_trouble_witness_plea_1_4235262 MAIN ARTICLE (inc pictures)...

    Sponsor me for Sport Relief!

Hey all, I'll be doing the Sainsbury's 1-Mile Sport Relief in Hartlepool this year, so any kind of donation would be greatly appreciated - im hoping to smash last year's fundraising of £75 - but to start with I've set my target as £50! Anything helps, even pennies! It would mean a lot -...

What GC Train will i get from Sunderland on the 08.30?

It's more than likely going to be a 180, but as has been mentioned it's pretty much equal chance - depends how things are going! Best of luck!

    TeesTrains

It would be fantastic to have such a service though. Or even one which terminates at the MetroCentre and comes straight back down? Or if worst comes to worst, start/finish in Hartlepool Bay Platform heading southbound.

    TeesTrains

Was meant as a joke, but I don't see why some kind of spur could not exist to the Airport - then it gives people the opportunity to run such services.
