Changes to restriction code between ticket purchase and ticket use?

What about season tickets or carnets or anything else that can't be sold against an itinerary? I have a print out in my bag showing the restrictions at the time of purchase but I am sure most people won't go to those lengths and they are also easy to fake...

Changes to restriction code between ticket purchase and ticket use?

(hopefully) Hypothetical one here: If between the purchase of a ticket and it's expiration/validity date, the restrictions listed for the code on the ticket are changed, what happens?

Project Oval: TfL win DfT contract to expand contactless system to 233 rail stations by May 2024, Railcards coming to contactless payment cards

So this morning, as I expected, all barriers were exit only and the staff were predictably uninformed about the continued validity of carnets purchased prior to the change. Thankfully there were some tickets inspectors there to assist me, but it took far longer than it should, and I doubt their...

Project Oval: TfL win DfT contract to expand contactless system to 233 rail stations by May 2024, Railcards coming to contactless payment cards

DfT are paying TfL to rollout contactless payment. I would love to see the FoI request that details the DfT demanding the withdrawal of carnets as a condition of such.

Project Oval: TfL win DfT contract to expand contactless system to 233 rail stations by May 2024, Railcards coming to contactless payment cards

I hate quoting Wikipedia, but: "The contract was awarded to Transport for London (TfL) for £68.1 million" The Chairman of TfL is whom?

Project Oval: TfL win DfT contract to expand contactless system to 233 rail stations by May 2024, Railcards coming to contactless payment cards

I still haven't seen any official communication about these changes, either in station, on train, or via email (which given I have a Thameslink account should not be that difficult). How will ticket offices being explaining why their carnets are no longer available to their bemused (and likely...

Project Oval: TfL win DfT contract to expand contactless system to 233 rail stations by May 2024, Railcards coming to contactless payment cards

Luton ... aligned evening peak restrictions ... 16.00 to 19.00 ... carnet ... no longer available ... And no morning off peak before 09:30... I struggle for words that are suitable for a public forum... Not only is the single off peak fare now 11%+ more expensive, it is no longer valid on...

Penzance to Wick in a calendar day soon possible?

From looking at RTT today it seems 50/50 as to which way round the train runs, so I may have to be content with getting somewhere near the middle and legging it first one off!

Penzance to Wick in a calendar day soon possible?

Not too worried about that one as it's a valid connection and the planned platforms are close to each other. RTT even shows they held the Inverness train for 10 minutes today because the one from Glasgow was also held up by 10. And with that delayed by 20, the Wick was held up as well - so the...

Penzance to Wick in a calendar day soon possible?

Aye, I think it would be a good idea to watch the itinerary daily for a few weeks to get an idea of the likelihood of completion and the best days to try it.

Penzance to Wick in a calendar day soon possible?

Agreed, but if any delay prevents me from reaching Tain then me getting to Kings Cross in time for an earlier train won't invalidate this!

Penzance to Wick in a calendar day soon possible?

Yup, even though I've only just found out about this route, I'm already looking for the perfect carriage/door/seat combos! RTT says 3 is the train from Perth and 5 is the train to Wick, so fingers cross all ok! I would do it with an anytime ticket to Tain, and then from Tain to Wick. That way...

Penzance to Wick in a calendar day soon possible?

Which groups of platforms share barriers at Inverness?

Penzance to Wick in a calendar day soon possible?

The only 0 minute connections there are from train to tube and back again, and that's not really connection times...

Penzance to Wick in a calendar day soon possible?

I know that there have been many threads like this in the past, and I know that up to now good/daring runners were able to make it in a calendar day with a dash through Glasgow, but from the 15th of December it seems it should be slightly easier: 05:03 PNZ-PAD 09:54 09:54 PAD-KGX 10:30 10:30...

Most Idiocracy moment you've experienced on your travels?

So this evening at Farringdon I put my picket into an open barrier and it swallowed all but 3mm of it. Unable to reach the 3mm I called the attendant over, who promptly chastised me for inserting my card into a barrier that took it most of the way because apparently the tiny digital display...

15-cars in St Pancras platform 3 this lunchtime (21/07)?

It was definitely showing as 5F37 on Opentraintimes when I pulled in to the platform, and RTT showed much different timings to that. Perhaps it ran back to Cricklewood as 10 cars, re-formed as 5 and then ran back to St Pancras under the same headcode?

15-cars in St Pancras platform 3 this lunchtime (21/07)?

Indeed, I only posted this thread out of curiosity as I'd never seen anything like this before, definitely don't want it to become a blame game! I was more amazed that I was able to arrive at all until I looked at the distance from the points I'd come across.

15-cars in St Pancras platform 3 this lunchtime (21/07)?

Just arrived on the Corby about 12:20 today, and there was a train sticking out of platform 3 a long way. 5 car train at the south end, then another 10 cars to the north of it, not coupled up to it. Also a much larger than usual queue of people for that time of day. Looks like 5F37 had just...
