At the Assessment centre yesterday they specifically mentioned that we were there for the Yoker & Motherwell depots....she then hesitated, stopped then looked at a bit of paper & said yeah you guys are down as Yoker & Motherwell.
Bit strange as I never even seen Motherwell on the job advert...
Guys, would I be right in thinking that one of the tests at the first assessment stage has the unusual scenario where its better to have an answer guessed rather than leaving a blank answer? Im not sure if it's the memory test but Im pretty sure that I read something on this very forum once but...
There are very few jobs out there which are "easy" and being a Train Driver certainly isnt one of them. You need a specific set of skills & attributes to carry out the job. Its not physically demanding but more mentally challenging. As for worrying about problems and stressing out? I'd imagine...
Think about it, they are not gonna start 100 drivers all at once, they will have groups of applicants in different batches and when they start the successful applicants their start dates will all be staggered. When I applied a couple of years ago my application was submitted in mid-March...
In all honesty Id probably do it for the exact same salary that Im on just now as bizarrely as you might find that plus Im sure fabricating stories on an application form will come back to haunt them in life in some way or another. Im not some "weird spotter type" either as you so nicely put it.
Its great positive PR for Abellio and the "Scotrail" image but a ridiculous amount of candidates all the same, who's to say they wont just bin a large amount without even looking at their applications?? Im applying (again) because of the job, not because of the salary, Ive seen people post on...
People often have a little dig at the recruitment dept now and again, they have a difficult monotonous job at times..........all Im saying is that they done a very good job when I was there, Im not in the habbit of kissing folks arses to get a job on the railway
Id like to just say that Sandra and Synthia (?) were absolutely fantastic with everyone when I was in doing the 1st stage of physcometric tests. Very professional & didnt start any test until everyone was clear with what they were doing. Its funny because they must deal with thousands &...
If your lucky enough and get past the original sift you should get an email inviting you to the first part of the assessment centre. Remember to check your junkmail for that email  and dont worry, the email will include some practice material so you will have an idea about whats involved...
Deansie - the recruitment process has changed a little since its no longer First (and now Abellio) who run the franchise. Dont think there are any online tests, just a rather long and comprehensive application to fill in via the Abellio website. Thats the 1st stage of the process.
Have you...
I know a guy who applied a few months ago (like you did) and got to the final stages (like you did) but there were 5 candidates at his final assessment. Thats all Im saying. Do yourself a favour mate and stop acting like a bellend. Come here for advice, help & answers........throwing your toys...
Out of the 2000+ odd applications you werent the only 3 to make it thru to the final stages. There were others, who were there on a different day. Thats all.
The application form is a bit comprehensive but luckily (due to my current job) I can relate to alot of stuff they are looking for. Im worried about getting time off work if Im fortunate enough to get past the initial first phase.....
Good luck to everyone with their application, this is my...
Yes their way was defo a bit of a drawn out affiar lol. Sorry but im not sure what you mean? You still do GB, glopp, high tone low tone & cables/dials? A DM interview to begin with seems strange??
Thanks for your reply. Thats quite interesting that they seem to have changed the process, I pressume they have changed some of the assessments? Group Bourdon?? cables & dials?? Memory/glopp test?
Do Abellio still use the same recruitment process that First did? Submit application, 2 online tests, phone interview, part 1 of assessment centre etc etc etc etc.....
After reading the answers I was more swayed to C if im honest, the customer could be telling lies and this could be a hoax for all we know??? I'd probably want to see it for myself to be honest before raising the alarm.
Lets just say you evacuate the train & the station going by this customers...
