(Speculation) Will Flixbus enter the UK domestic market at any point?

They've bought Megabus' operations on mainland Europe, and Megabus worked as a contractor with their own buses for quite a while on these routes (like London - Cologne, Frankfurt - Berlin), although now it's running as a regular "815" instead of "ME04" which was used before. If you go to...

    Exeter Airport bus service

I see I made a mistake with Exeter Bus station, but even when changing it to the railway station (by using its postal code), the price remains at £2.50. It only becomes more (£3.70) if you were to take a route where you'd have to change buses, but then you'd also have to pay twice. Not £3.60 in...

    Weather disruption (Hurricane Orphelia) 16-17/10/17

Average 10-minute (or 1-minute if American) sustained wind speed. If this is at least 120 km/h, then it's a hurricane. If it's below, then it isn't. A few gusts of 150km/h don't make it a hurricane, but 10 minutes of 120km/h winds do. Currently, the maximum sustained wind speeds lie around 110...

    Tram Penalty

How I understand it now, it would've sufficed to just tap at the tramlink validator, without going to the gateline, as per https://www.oyster-rail.org.uk/wimbledon/ If it was needed to go via the gateline, that would also lead to many people going there, then backing out again causing...

    Tram Penalty

As a tourist who loves exploring the system, I arrived at Wimbledon station by train and intended to change to Tramlink 2-3 years ago. I had a valid Oyster card which was validated upon entry at London Waterloo. When I got to the Tramlink platform, I got quite confused, as I expected validating...

    TVM out of service mid-print

You could also try to tweet to National Rail to see what they say you should do in such circumstances?

Some Wirral Line timings being altered due to recent problems

Will that mean they'll use an extra train, and give staff a bit of a break in Chester? Because they currently have about a 4 minute turnaround, and with later arrival / earlier departure...

    Weird Southern 12 car

Whenever I'm in London, I also use Upper Warlingham station, and up until my May visit, it's always been 1/2/3 times a 4-car 377. But when I came in August, there seemed to be much more variety with 3- and 5-car 377's also being thrown in, even giving me an 11-car set once.

    Amsterdam Eurostar

Current London - Brussels journey is approx. 2 hours. Current Thalys Brussels - Amsterdam is 1h50, but with stops in Antwerp and Schiphol. So the overall journey might be 3h45-4h00, depending on how long they make the stops in Brussels/Rotterdam.

    New trains in the Netherlands

Oh, my bad. I thought we only had like 1 or 2 dozen in service of those. And I mentioned the older double-decker trains, as they'd been brought in as a 'crowd-busting, train-lacking' measure while the new trains were en route, because we don't have more SGM. Although I'm myself not sure why on...

    New trains in the Netherlands

Only the oldest set of Koplopers will be replaced, the others that may not be needed for current services can then be used to strengthen other services. The renewed DD-AR into NID (New Intercity Doubledecker) will remain. The other old (and unrefurbished) DDAR and DDM will be set aside when...

Tube strike off but no Chiltern trains at Wembley Stadium after 4pm 05/10

The timetables that I saw floating around for the strike day didn't seem to me as if the journey times were in any way altered, just that they wouldn't stop at the station. Arrival times at Marylebone were 'as normal' , so even with reinstating that stop, nothing within the timetable or crew...

    New trains in the Netherlands

Brown leather seats in compartments? I don't quite think we still have these! Closest I can think of is from mid-90's when I was a kid. They'll be used to enhance service, and replace the following stock: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intercitymaterieel (Not full replacement AFAIK, but the...

    Amsterdam Eurostar

We have some very weird language laws and regulations here in Belgium. I'm Dutch and still look at many things over here with a 'why' attitude. The only trains where they'll speak French in Flanders, and Dutch in Wallonia are the ICE, Thalys, Eurostar, the Hasselt - Liège/Luik - Maastricht (NL)...
