    Thameslink Core congestion (01/02)

Today’s issue has been problems with the track circuits south of St Pancras station, with trains being talked past TWH1031 and TWH1033, although one of these TCF’s has now seemingly rectified (or at least, hasn’t blipped in a significant time). 1031 is the signal at the south end of St Pancras...

    GN Class 717

    Thameslink Services/Timetable from May 20th 2018

From speaking to those who work in the train planning team, this week has been absolute hell for them. All of the senior team and planners have worked through the night every day, stayed late, worked at home in the evenings, etc just to get something for this weekend. There have been some real...

Trivia: Rolling Stock in unusual locations

Not planned - during service disruption at Orpington a few months ago, Thameslink berthed a 700/0 overnight in Tonbridge. It had worked a Blackfriars to Sevenoaks service and was then due to head ECS to Orpington but couldn't. Fortunately the driver was a Southeastern driver who signed to...

Great Northern and Thameslink May 18 service changes

    1. GTR published the date only because NR absolutely promised that the timetable would be entirely uploaded on that Friday night. 2. Some are loaded and some are not because NR decided they were going to make further changes to what they had offered back to the TOC and promised to upload on that...

    Class 319's into storage/withdrawals tracker

I think I must have posted this on another thread, but yes August is the estimate. From what I have heard from people in the know, there are around 30 319 diagrams for this weekend coming and 12 377 units. Given that on past occasions 2 700 units have come in a fortnight and replaced like for...

    Thameslink/ Class 700 Progress

Sunday. From the people I've spoken to it should be mainly during the morning/early afternoon, but can't confirm. Keep an eye on realtimetrains/opentraintimes?

    Thameslink/ Class 700 Progress

Yes, performing operational tests on all platforms. Similar to occur next Sunday via Worthing if what I have been told is still going ahead. Not their first visit down that way (last time was early February overnight I think), but most certainly first daytime visit.

    Thameslink/ Class 700 Progress

Not 100% accurate... The broken down train off 2W91 was a 12 car FLU (700114) and the rescue train from Cricklewood was an 8 car RLU (700019 IIRC). 700s have been coupled before, although admittedly probably not by the drivers and fitters on the scene. That said, they coupled the units...
