Up-rating the 717s maximum speed has nothing to do with 717s covering long distance services - it was being investigated prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. There are no intentions to replace 387s/365s with 717s.

The bay is of little to no use these days. 8 car 387s and 8 car 700/0s are not cleared to use it due to signal sighting issues.
