Don’t be nervous! I actually went into the interview with a typed sheet with key facts I wanted to remember and a list of the NTS and a key word example against each. I explained what it was and said I didn’t want to forget anything. They were more than happy with this and I guess it showed I...
My husband is a signaller too so before my interview he managed to find quite a bit of “inside” information about the box. In fact I wasn’t asked one thing about my knowledge of the box. It was all about my past experiences and examples. Make sure you know the non-technical skills and have...
I had an interview for one box and in the interview I was told there were 3 positions available at that box and possibly 1 at another and was asked if they d consider the other location too
Thanks :) I had the interview on 02 March and heard nothing for 7 weeks!! I knew this was good news though as they told me in the interview that HR are quick to tell you you’re unsuccessful but take ages to tell you you’ve got the job!!
When I had my interview a few weeks ago, they told me during the introduction that it didn't matter if I used the same examples to illustrate a different point as they appreciated that the same scenario may cover quite a few areas. So I'm guessing the same would apply for the 70 questions
Well guys (and dolls!!) I am just bursting to say that I got the highly coveted email today letting me know that I had a formal offer!! Yayyy I can’t believe it!! After 15 months of applications I’ve finally done it!!! Now the long wait for a medical and start date!!:D:D
I changed jobs recently (not rail related) and was told that with their online tests that if you got an answer wrong, the next question is easier and if you got it right, the next question is harder and so on
Actually that's not quite true. I've got an application in at the moment and it's saying one thing but I've not received an email or letter in the post yet. I'm not worried because it's good news but it would be nice to have it in ink as it were!! It's not the first time that I've seen it on...
I find it works sometimes and doesn't others. I use Chrome both on my phone and laptop and my password is saved automatically. I find if I close the window and try again it works most of the time on the 2nd or 3rd attempt. Very occasionally it doesn't work at all and I just leave it for a few...
They don't do those hours every day!! He has lots of days off including 6 days on the trot at one part of his roster. He only does extra hours when doing a voluntary overtime shift for which he gets paid. He's on a 7 week roster
Exactly right. Their shifts are made up of 2 x 12 hr shifts 06-1800 and 18-0600 each day and then 2 x shifts 06-1400 and 14-2200. It's the latter 2 that will be off.
My husband is a signaller and works a doubled manned box on a mix of 12 and 8 hr shifts. They've just stopped double manning and those on 8 hr shifts don't go into work, those on 12 hrs do. No difference in salary though, he's being paid as if he was there, thank goodness!
