It’s a mix of 8’s and 12’s. He’s on a 7week roster. They are doubled manned during the day and single overnight except Sundays when they are single all day and night. He’s been there over 12 years and loves it. Apparently there is a vacancy coming up soon he says!

It’s a grade 5. How do I know that? My husband works there!! It’s always filled internally so best to get a position locally and then try for a promotion

All checks have been done except the medical and yes, then I'll be waiting for a date to start signalling school. Could be a long wait - but worth it in the end!

Does anyone have an up to date bell codes list? I've got one but my signaller husband says there are lots that aren't used anymore on the list. If we still have to learn the complete list, I will but if there's a revised one, I'd prefer to use that. Thanks a lot

I'm still waiting for my medical after receiving an offer at the end of April. I've received an email this morning apologising for the ongoing delay due to Covid 19 and assuring me they are doing everything they can to speed things along!

When I applied for my role, I was told at the interview that there were 3 vacancies in the same box. I’ve ended up being offered not the one I actually applied for but one of the other 2. To do this they had to create another listing and it’s that one I have been given. The original listing I’m...

I also had the same thing where I applied for a role in a SB but there were in fact 3 vacancies in the same box that were all the same. I didn’t get the one I applied for but once they’d created an application, I was told I was successful with one of the other roles

So sorry to hear that. But take comfort in the fact that you now know you have what they’re looking for so hopefully, if you apply again, you’ll get there. Good luck

How long ago did you get your offer? I’ve been waiting since the end of last month and haven’t heard anything yet

I received a formal offer for a signalling role near Shrewsbury and all the background checks were completed on 28 April. I was then told it was just a date for the medical that would hold me back as Optima aren’t doing any medicals at the moment. Senior managers from NR are in discussions to...

I was told HR are quick to tell you you haven’t got it but a lot slower to tell you you have! In my case it took them 7 weeks (although I think CV19 had a lot to do with that)

Have you been told what format the training will take bearing in mind the current circumstances?
