Don't know if they're ever used much these days. The line stops at the new shopping centre but used to continue to Renfrew with stations at Deanside, Renfrew (Kings Inch) and Renfrew (Porterfield Road).
Years and years ago, there was apparently a proposal to extend the Hyndland terminus line to Botanic Gardens via a new tunnel under Great Western Road. Looks like that's the possible plan here. I think it's an admission, of sorts, that the 1970s built plan of connecting the Central and Queen...
All original 13 high level platforms as Glasgow Central used to have those hydraulic buffers. Platforms 2 & 3 and 4 & 5 lost theirs when the platforms were shortended around 1985 to accommodate the new dot matrix departure baord. Platforms 12 & 13 lost theirs after that, possibly when they added...
Well, the Zonecard has been around for years.

It's ridiculous they don't have a phone app for the Zonecard yet. I used to buy monthly First Bus tickets but then lost it one day when it still had over 2 weeks left on it. That made my mind up and I...
There's already a set of lifts, halfway along the lower-level platforms. They are accessed from platform 7 on the high-level. Been there for 40+ years.
I recall a few years back reading online somewhere about a shuttle service that went St Enoch - Gallowgate - Gallowgate Central - Bridgeton Central, as ridiculously short as that would've been. Cant find it via google though.
Had the Bruce Report ever been implemented, GQS High Level would've been a bus
station, with the lines routed into Glasgow North, an expanded 16-platform Buchanan
Street station.

As far as I'm aware, the current tracks are the ones that were accessed by the island platform. The outer tracks were lifted and the space built over, which explains why the current platforms are so wide.

Correct. It would have to be a deep-level tunnel & station, and I'm not convinced Glasgow has the substrata to support such a thing. The Glasgow Subway actually passes under both Queen Street and Central Low Level lines, but IIRC just about all of the south-of-the-Clyde section of the Subway was...
Since it's all hypothetical, why not modify the St Enoch centre back into a
railway station? Lose the car park and have the ground floor maintained as
shopping units, a bit similar to the current Saint Pancras. Build a new car
park in the triangle of land between the north and south rail...
