I have a start date now, I believe it's been just under 19 months in the pool so far.

Anyone on here that's on any of the upcoming courses with Southern?

Chatting with colleagues, we're under the impression that the freeze in recruitment will be with non safety crit roles. However, judging by the latest vacancy email, that hasn't been implemented yet. From what we gather, we will find out more on the plans for the shakeup in a few weeks.

DFFT is part of the assessments for GTR. Are the only TOC that I know of that doesn't use it. I only know about GTR and SE though so could be others. So you could fail the DFFT twice but still be able to apply for SE for example. Know of one person thag has managed it this way. Hope this helps...

Nope, no PTS required for the OBS role. As far as I'm aware it isn't really classed as safety crit, I could be wrong though, others may help. Role of OBS from what I've seen is stepping off each stop to check for any assistance, checking tickets (pre pandemic), general assistance on board and...

You're right, never assume anything. Im basing this view on my application. No mention of talent pool when I applied but that's where I am. It really is a strange recruitment process qhen this happens, I've never got my head around how it all works to be fair.

I would assume it is a talent pool as people are still in the pool from the last recruitment drive
