    What rolling stock is this?

What about a refurbished 411? - similar 2+2 seats, small window table and window size?

    GEML franchise 2016

With the frequency of unnecessary name changes in this region, the logo or livery of all the new trains will probably be obsolete within 2 months of their delivery. At least the portion of AGA now transferred to London Overground will be maintaining a consistent image for many years to come.

    Favorite European Multiple Unit?

These are the Portuguese Railways (CP) class 3100. According to Wikipedia built in 1950 by Cravens Sheffield, and as far as I am aware they still monopolise the Lisbon to Cascais line, along the coast. I had quite a few rides on these about 3 years ago and would love to go back. (Lisbon is a...

    Fictional liveries

Love the BR Blue & Grey Voyager. Some favourites of mine: www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/gallery/image/2083-nse-class-377/ http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/gallery/image/2678-london-underground-red-1996-stock/...

    Trivia: Least Favourite Stock

A few years ago this was mine, but I oddly miss them now. Possibly the most basic carriages there were. Whilst being far from hating them, I think the sheer number of Electrostars is starting to bore me. especially as now they have taken over North of the river and will be taking over to the...

    Class 345 progress

The Z50000 certainly is different, and I welcome 'out there' designs that stand out from the crowd. I personally was disappointed when Alstom pulled out of the running for Thameslink as their Xtrapolis UK design would have offered something quite unique. On the subject of the aventra, during...

    Class 345 progress

I love the darker colours of the interior. It makes a change from all the cold white interiors of new stock over the past 10 or so years, some of which appear to get so grubby so quickly (360). I read that TfL chose a darker scheme so as it didn't appear to the passenger that they are sitting in...

Annoying noise in class 456 units

Noise has always been particularly noticeable to me on 321s waiting to leave London Liverpool Street as there is quite an echo

Trivia; stations with the worst view from the platform?

This is the biggest eyesore for me actually, stations (particularly termini) where the adjacent railway lands have become a hideous brightly coloured supermarket. Like with Yarmouth, I seem to remember Cromer having a nasty yellow morrisons next door. Just depressing

Trivia; stations with the worst view from the platform?

Ponders End, those hideous coloured tower blocks looming behind the station turn my stomach

Birmingham New St to Manchester Picc

Seems a shame that a dedicated outer suburban electric service doesn't exist also. Would be a nice run for some 350's (of the 2+2 seated variety) that. I guess the electric service died with the 309's as I can't see FNW ever having used 323s on the route.

Birmingham New St to Manchester Picc

Hi all, I remembered that the Class 309's last days were spent running a New St to Piccadilly service for First North Western in the late 1990's, which ran in addition to the XC intercity services. it got me wondering, does a service only running between these two cities still exist today, or...

Another LO West Anglian station spelling mistake

Details of the tfl's mistake. They look like expensive signs too rather than the vinyl overlays applied at 'Theobolds Grove' http://www.guardian-series.co.uk/news/13582027._Welcome_to_Waltamstow___TfL_slammed_after_sign_blunder/

Another LO West Anglian station spelling mistake

Following the new station signs at Theobalds Grove being spelt wrong in LO's first week of operation of WA suburban lines, apparently now new signs at Walthamstow Central have been spelt wrong too! You would have thought they were being extra careful after the first time

    New Sub Class 357/3

So even when opened out a bit with 2+2 High capacity layout the electrostar body still looks to feel so narrow and claustrophobic. A desiro by comparison feels pleasingly spacious and airy.
