Well to be honest mate i applied for Air Traffic Control, 5 GCSE's needed, starting wage £10k ye, then £34k, then £43, then £100k when fully qualified, you learn everything in house, paid for by them, and you earn at the same tiem, and shift patterns are almost identical to train drivers...

it's just ridiculous, do they not realise people won't wait forever, i mean it's a good career in the rail indsutry but there are other jobs that pay as well and are easier to get through, suppose the thing with the rail industry is it's quite enjoyable, i'd hate to be stuck in 1place all day...

Yeh true, but you ever been on the TPE that goes from manchester-glasgow, stops about 7-8 times in Cumbria alone that one, really goes around the houses

Oh right sorry to hear that, so did they send you an email then actually saying you hadn't passed the online assessment? Cos like i say i'm just wondering if they say everyone has passed the assessment then actually look at result and start short-listing people for an interview

Really? I didn't know that. I have quite a lot of experience in sales and dealing with the public, thats what i'm working as at the moment. Never thought it'd be a skill applying for this job, but to be honest i'm glad it will come in handy now.

Applied to Manc me, can do Liverpool too, but i'm from Manc, so best to stick to what u know, always get tpe to the airport or lancaster when i head up there

I have applied, but i'll take my chances and say there's no way i'll get through to the next stage, but who knows, i might win the euromillions tonight, and if that happens i might have to re-evaluate and say, i might get through :D
