A thread for Nova 1 (802's) diagrams. Today, the 12th of October see's the first 'planned' all day diagram. As per an internal email from TPE Control to Traincrew today.

Looks like a Nova 1 is planned on being used all day today. Anything could change though this early in the day.

*gets crayons out* What about going the opposite way - make all tickets time restricted to specific trains. No off peak/anytime etc just train specific tickets (Advance style) This would include season tickets too. Then if someone needs sudden flexibility - a supplement could be purchased...

Training update: York Guards are starting to be trained on the 802's as of this week.

On very lightly loaded last trains of the night from places like Middlesbrough or Scarborough - I too will do a passenger count after departing the last station before the destination. Then count them off onto the platform before closing the train up and doing a final walkthrough for disposal...

Still mulling this idea over so there are loads of obstacles to it, but - In the absence of platforms 15/16... extend 13 and 14 each to a length suitable to accommodate two 5/6 car trains at the same time. Then: 13b train arrives. Sets down passengers. Departs and stops at 13a to board waiting...

I am having my very first ride on an 800 between Newcastle and York right now. The train hasn't even left the platform yet and I'm already hating these seats.

Are you counting disused platforms towards the size?

Had my first ride on a 195 today. Things I was surprised by: 1. The seats are personally actually ok comfort-wise. But they are quite narrow and have atrociously little leg room. (I had 2x airline seats to myself and had to spread my legs into the aisle/next seat-side to accommodate my legs.)...

Quick question going back on topic. How does the spare DT get tested and accepted? Will it be swapped into a full set for FFR or can a 68 be attached just to a DT?

Internal update from an all colleague email this morning says the first 802 will (probably) be delivered to TPE in "around a week's time" as per the contract with Hitachi.

Surely other Train Operating Companies would have to agree to this? By the sound of it, Virgin are planning on letting people travel with the app and then are setting the fare(s) charged AFTER the passenger has travelled. Doesn't that mean they are traveling without a ticket? Please explain...

I would imagine that the new franchisee will be keeping silent and only announcing new rolling stock orders etc on the 1st day of the franchise. Easiest way of making a splash in the news on day 1 of operations.
