The one coach that has wheel flats is awaiting a skate move from Tulloch for onward road transport I believe. Should be sufficient time mid afternoon most days for that I would think.
Aye, sure it was just slight misunderstanding/way it was explained. Tokens are not allowed to be done on the move anymore, can’t remember the year it was stamped down on (15-20 years ago maybe longer?!) but train should be at a stand when exchanging/returning/issuing tokens.
Other things not...
Token exchanges on the move won’t/cannot happen. Multiple/super long sections tokens would likely be what your thinking of where a train could in theory be given a Crianlarich - Fort William token and it would clear behind the train as they loop cleared each Token Exchange Point on the way.
Aye they look broadly similar to a 156 plough but when they got the dellner mods the centre 1-2ft of the plough was removed so the coupler could hang down in that area
The Scotrail services regularly push through this sort of thing at Corrour. Video of this on YouTube.
Think the fact the loco on 6S45 had problems and failed is more the deciding issue and can only guess at a new driver on the sleeper not managing through that bit of snow? so while not CS...
Not sure if your being deliberately obtuse here?? Do you believe that machines run and maintain themselves? Are you living in some sort of alternate timeline where The Terminator is real?
It is because you are stating the HST project is a disaster (true) but this failure is not (at least in my view) down to the machines. The way Scotrail operate their fleet as a whole appears to be lacking with an inability or want to actually bed down issues quickly and efficiently. I suspect...
You speak like the HST's are Scotrails only fleet they are having issues with?
As others have noted HST's being operated by other TOC's are not giving anything like the same issues, surely if the HST is as clapped out as you say the reliability would be the same across all operators no?
My...
Not sure about the point of “40 year old underframes” etc. A valid point would have been the poor reliability surely, little of which can be attributed to those underframes surely?
Not used one of Scotrail HST’s yet but when I travelled regularly from Inverness to Perth and return the southbound...
Scotrail don’t have any portable radios, so if a 156 isn’t RETB fitted it shouldn’t make an appearance on the WHL. Not unknown for an unfitted unit to sneak in though....
The RETB kit from those away to Northern may be fitted to the 153,s at Bodies. Believe that info is from other users on this...
As highlandspring states, ATP removal is one. The list from the following link https://www.parliament.scot/S5_Rural/Meeting%20Papers/20190327_REC_Committee_-_Public_Papers.pdf gives-
• Compressor, main reservoir pipe, and brake pipe pressure switches renewal to solid state
type;
• Brake pipe...
Once those 4 PC's are done will there be some still requiring the reliability mods as discussed earlier in the thread? I assume the most recent PC's will have had them done while at Brush but the earlier ones will still require the mods?
I agree with that, the recent HML ‘improvements ‘ have been a major let down for the Railway, compounded with the boasting that they came in 57million!?! Under budget. A lacklustre scheme in the end with many of the hoped for parts of the project, that could have really complemented the HST...
