You still have to complete and pass the online tests with MTR regardless of passes at assessment centres. I'm currently a trainee, passed all stage 1 with a previous TOC and still had to complete these online tests when I applied. Once you pass these then your previous passes come into play.

Greater Anglia Vacancies -Trainee Mainline Driver

The trouble is, with thousands of applicants, TOCS can afford the luxury of picking the very best candidates that score highly in these tests. That's just how it works, so if you've just scrapped a pass mark you'll be unlikely to hear anything. Especially as this application is still live until...

MTR Crossrail Trainee Driver (Multiple Locations)

If I remember correctly, it took me a while to hear back between different stages. Probably nearer the 20 day mark as they stipulate and I'm a couple of months from finishing training now. So being the last to get correspondence certainly doesn't mean you've failed. I know it's hard but you just...

    Volume of applications per job

When I applied and succeeded my TOC said to us in week one of training that over 30,000 applicants applied. Madness. Think they took on roughly 300 out of that recruitment drive.

    dB apprenticeship trainee drivers

Most will follow suit as they're all going towards an apprenticeship qualification (NVQ) at the end of training. I got lucky, my TOC didn't require you must have the grades etc, as they put us through a course to gain the equivalent. They probably will in the future though. Plus it's another way...

New to the Forum & Interested in Becoming a Driver

Bare this is mind though, most TOC's/FOC's require you to live within 60 minutes of your home depot. So research which depots meet that criteria. Took me a couple of attempts to get a trainee position, definitely be prepared for knock backs along the way but don't get too dis-heartened. Good luck.

    gwr medical?

Interesting to read that they tested your urine for booze Stigy, where I had my medical, all be if for a different company, it was a breathalyser. Like Stigy has said though, it's zero allowance for safety critical roles.
