Overcrowding is a design issue... Bombardier knew that the 221/220s would be on high density routes, and yet, still did not introduce easy movement between sets, and still only did 4/5 coaches per set.
Those who are going on about how my plan does not take into account the loading gauge... I did not say I wanted to rebuild the system, but I think we should re evaluate the type of trains we use.
I was meaning, we should take more from design, from the IR3 / ET train, and take more of the way...
The NEW Bombardier Class ET in Denmark, are 2020 compatible, as they are new trains based on the designs of the IC3. The IR4 / IC3 , is compatible, however only when the elevator for disabled passengers is used.
UK RAILWAYS RANT ALERT!!!!
To be complete honest, I don't understand why the DfT and the TOC's have a massive obsession for Multiple Unit trains in the UK. I understand that the High Speed services, should be in DMU form (e.g, pendos, 800s etc...) but I think the more inter region services...
Argh, I'll tell you what Britain need... The DSB IR4s.
-Electric
-Improved door situation from the IC3
-Intercity and commuter version
-Wide gangway, for single crew, and easy access for all sets
-Can run in max of 12 cars.
-Still made in the IR3 form, by Bombardier.

Does it really annoy anyone else, that the class 800s have the white strip around the cab doors and the locking lights, where the vinyl wrap hasn't been done?
Makes the trains looks temporary and horrible
Would it not make sense to maybe operate some routes as GWR, and the rest as say, London South Western?
For example...
Windsor / Reading routes could easily become GWR, so they could just have it all as one.
And Exeter - Basingstoke / Bath - Salisbury could become GWR
Just a thought? Would...
If the West Midlands can make the trains operating privately in, and around Birmingham have a city specific livery, then why aren't the LM trains that operate in the suburbs in a city specific livery, if London has a specific brand image?
Thats what issue we have today, companies which have an iron chest of cash will close down lines even if they are losing £1....
The 230s are great for some branches, and maybe they will make the case for them to be reopened...
On that note, how about the Scottish Borders? allow 158s to be...
BA are worse than Transavia or Easyjet! They charge for meals on short haul (That is low... Real low)
They have the same legroom in club europe than in economy....
We took a business class flight to CPH earlier this year, and it was not even different, apart from the cutlery.
We've...
