Thanks for the replies guys. I'll try again tomorrow. It looks as though I am going to Wick on Saturday so can get to the station there during its opening time. Whether they can make reservations there for East Coast, Virgin and Great Western remains to be seen
Hi,
According to the FGW they only issue three days in advance of the start date. I have emailed scotrail about their telesales answer and will see what they say. I may have to take a trip to the mainland to get to Wick or Thurso stations during their opening hours. I can't get a telephone...
Hi I live in the Orkney islands and want to purchase an ALR staring on Thursday 30th May, first class for two weeks. Scotrail web help referred me to their telesales department to buy the ticket and make reservations. On doing this, i was told by the customer sevices operator that I needed to...
Hi, I'm planning a first class all line rover at the end of May/ beginning of June. Will seat reservations be necessary on evening peak services out of London particularly First Great Western, Virgin and East Coast?
Can I make reservations by telephone before buying the ALR as I live in this...
Hi, I have an advance single from Edinburgh to Thurso on 16th March. I don't know whether the train from Perth to Inverness will be a 158, 170 or a combination. Seat is coach A 36F and its the 10.10 from Queen Street which I will be getting from Perth after arriving from the Edinburgh Perth...
Thanks for that. I hope to get on one at some time during the day. Also want to take the once a day train that goes to Southampton via Eastliegh. Would probably get off at Eastleigh for a bit and then buy a single to Southampton before returning to Gatwick or Brighton. BTW, How can you tell...
The reason I asked about gat ex to Brighton is that I will be travelling about the network and may try to get one othe evening ones from Gatwick to Brighton in an effort to get on a 442. Perhaps there are other services which are operated by them.
Thanks for that. I note that it is not valid on gat ex on the southern website. Does that include Brighton to Gatwick and return as well as Victoria to Gatwick
Hi, thinking of using this when down in Brighton in March. Probably leaning toward the all network ticket which I think allows me to go on the North London part of the southern network as well as the Downs area. Can anyone tell me how the e ticket works? Thanks.
I'm planning something similar for the same reason toward end of May / beginning of June but starting from Inverkeithing just after midnight on the Aberdeen portion of the southbound Highland sleeper. Hope you enjoy your trip.
Thanks for the quick reply. I might take a Cheshire ranger day ticket from Crewe ending at Manchester Piccadilly and go to Carlisle and then Edinburgh that way.
Hi, This is my first post although I have been viewing for some months.
I have a super off peak return from Edinburgh to Brighton for 11th March with a Senior Railcard. The ticket is any permitted with a validity code 72. ( BR Fares suggest the restriction is 1K) It also has the cross for...
