No, nothing here yet... Life still on hold for the forseeable! You?
Oh, and thinking about my previous post, I actually had my assessment on the 30th, duh!!!
No, I had no idea of its existance until I happened to come across it this evening, and I've been using the S1 and S2 to catch trains to London for the past 10 years! I guess it's just a bit of an oddity, and I still don't get why only those 2 Saturday services are shown on Open Train Times...
Well, I found the ticket on redspottedhanky. An Off Peak Day Single from Witney to London is £25.40. A Single from Oxford to London is £22.40. A Bus fare from Witney to Oxford is £2.70, so it's 30p more expensive to buy the through train ticket.

And...
Oh, I see... It just seems strange as it just seems to run twice a week on a Saturday - one at 0202 and one at 2252.
OTT says Witney has a "station code" of WMP, but NRE doesn't recognise Witney or WMP, so you can't actually buy a ticket to Witney.
Just looking on open train times for trains at oxford, and noticed that there is a service operating from Oxford to Witney, by bus. The service is aparently operated by FGW. Why would FGW operate a bus service to Witney? The tracks were ripped up many years ago!
Guys, I've been in your position. From what I gather on the forum, and from personal experience, railway recruitment moves at an absolute snail's pace, and you will be kept waiting for a long time throughout the process.
I was personally waiting for almost 2 months from the vacancy closing...
Lol, hello again, mate, I met you there on 31st Jan! We were the only 2 to go to the interview!
Yeah, that's what mine says too. Just thought I'd see if anyone else had heard anything!
Thomas69 - There's no problem. They get a phenomenal amount of applications for a driver post - it takes a long time to sift through them all and weed out the ones they want to invite for assessment.
I applied for a driver post with FGW in early November, and it wasn't until mid January that...
Brilliant, Bob1, well done! Yes, the reaction test is not good! Well done for getting through that one! Well, as I said, I did mine on Monday, and the website said today that I was successful. So have a check on Friday and you might get an answer!
So how many got through to the interview...
Woo Hoo! Thanks, FGW DID, you're absolutely right. Just logged on to the website and was greeted with "Successful at full assessment"! No e-mail yet though, but at least I know I havent lost one of my two lives now!
Hey, Fordy, you and your fellow cousemates must be getting very excited by...
Hi, all, new member here!
I've just been to the assessment at Reading on Monday. I was told I passed all the tests, but wasn't given the result of the structured interview, was told 7-10 days for the result.
It's only been a day and I'm quickly running out of fingernails.
Best of luck...
