I was waiting for this train too. Northern got me a taxi to Chorley and it took me to my door. Great job, really helpful. I will also be putting two claims in as i was on the Blackpool train that caused the problems and was stuck on it for three hours.

I have done Chorley to Carlisle on a return complementary pass. Outward journey via Preston and the Cumbrian coast and return via Leeds and Man Vic. Absolutley no problems at all.

Sat on the 19.41 Airport train at Blackpool North along with about 20 others yesterday, only to be thrown off after about 15 minutes due to no driver. Why let us all on in the first place?

Its a pity Northern cant get a few of these for the Cumbrian coast line.They would be ideal.

I have just read on Twitter that Stagecoach are going to be using a Lakes open topper on service 2. Preston to Southport on Wednesday. Anyone else heard about this please.

I get this train from Blackpool North to Chorley every weekend,and is quite often cancelled,usually due to a shortage of train crew. This week it was cancelled both on Friday and Saturday.Same reason Apparently!

I have seen plenty of people smoking on the platforms at Chorley,even though there are signs, this has been going on for years. As for smoking a few yards from entrances to stations or pubs,i would have imagined this is a public footpath and nothing can be done about it. I am a reformed smoker...

I cant see why through services cant run through the Victoria without stopping.For example,Blackpool North to Huddersfield,at least passengers could board and alight at Salford Central.

Yes i agree after looking into it on Saturday but the fact remains that it was only advertised as Monday to Thursday and both the departure boards and station staff at Preston and Blackpool all said it was going to Chorley, plus the guard on the train. We could have quite easily got on the...
