    Caledonian Sleeper discussion

92010 brought in the northbound Lowlander to Edinburgh Waverley this morning then ran round from Platform 9E through Platform 8 to hitch back on for the ECS move to Polmadie. 92014 was stabled opposite Platform 7 presumably having worked the northbound Highlander. Pics in the usual place at the...

    Caledonian Sleeper discussion

Looks like the CS loco stabled in Edinburgh Waverley during the day has shifted back from the Mid Road to the head shunt opposite Platform 7. 92014 the incumbent this morning. Still looks like the VT Thunderbird is stabling elsewhere whilst construction work takes place...

It had never crossed my mind that the reverse at Wembley was undone by approaching EDB from the east. That's a fortuitous fluke!

This might be worth a wee look down the ECML for a good location for a photograph. Early morning - probably good sunlight from the east though this summer that is not a gimme....

    Caledonian Sleeper Class 92's

92 018 stabled on the middle road at Edinburgh Waverley today. Made the place look so much tidier than the ultra scruffy Freightliner Skip that was parked there during the week! Pic of 018 as ever on link below https://www.flickr.com/photos/149563882@N07/

    Caledonian Sleeper Class 92's

Specsavers for me this weekend :D other suppliers of eyewear are available... how did i misread 018 for 033? I am hoping to catch the 73's on the Aberdeen section this week what with the summer daylight being at its maximum. Alarm is set - whether I will prise my spine off the mattress is...

    Caledonian Sleeper Class 92's

92's at Edinburgh Waverley still being stabled on the Mid Road. A 92 was there this afternoon although I didn't have time to clock it's number as I was running to catch my train - might have been 92033 but my eyesight is getting dodgy!

Many thanks Aws87024 - I shall amend Flickr page and credit you. Also thanks Timbo for educating me on train codes. I'll get the hang of this eventually.....

4S43 Daventry DRS to Mossend EuroTerminal TESCO

I did find a picture on Flickr that showed an 88 leading the way and was also a bit confused when my picture shows 2 x 66. Thanks for your efforts.

4S43 Daventry DRS to Mossend EuroTerminal TESCO

The link below is the train I refer to. It was definitely double header Class 66 when it reached Abington in South Lanarkshire around lunch time. http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/H21099/2017/06/17/advanced

4S43 Daventry DRS to Mossend EuroTerminal TESCO

This service was double headed today by two DRS Class 66's. I believe the lead locomotive was 66301. Can anyone advise what the second locomotive was please? Picture of the train in question at the link below. Many thanks in advance for help with this one...

Scotrail / DRS service 2L69 and ECS 5L70 cancellation 170616

thanks SC318250 - looks like a 68 conked out. Surprising as they are still fairly young in railway years. But I suppose new cars conk out too.

Scotrail / DRS service 2L69 and ECS 5L70 cancellation 170616

It appears these services were cancelled throughout. Does anyone know the reason please? Previous service 2K14 EDB to GLT ran as per normal. I am assuming there was traction failure? Pic of 2K14 at GLT at link below https://www.flickr.com/photos/149563882@N07/

    Caledonian Sleeper discussion

Does anyone have any information on reason for yesterday's 1A25 Edinburgh to Aberdeen going from 10 minutes late at South Gyle to 43 minutes late at Dalmeny Junction. It passed Kirkcaldy still approx 40 minutes late with 73 966 working solo up front. Photo (rather a naff one!) in usual place...

    Caledonian Sleeper discussion

The 92's have to take over completley when the Mk V rolling stock arrives - there are no alternatives except sticking clients in buses. So why would GBRf use a modified 92 on ECS then rent an FL 90 to do the main run. Surely they should be beating the hell out of the 92's to iron out every...

Where is 92 010 these days Jeff? For ages she was the ONLY 92 I could find but haven't seen her for some time - just chance? Also are GBRf low on available 92's that FL Skodas are on the main run down to EUS?

    Caledonian Sleeper discussion

Colas 47 was still at Craigentinny this afternoon. 66 739 "Bluebell Railway" hauled my sleeper one night last year with a 73 tucked in as second loco before the 73's started to go solo. I didnt get the number of the Colas as it was on wrong side of train and I was half asleep!
