Electric Key Token on Network Rail?

This is a very interesting example, an island of No Signalman Electric Key token. Castle Cary to Yeovil is Track Circuit Block, as is Maiden Newton to Dorchester West. Anybody any knowledge of the history of this, and why the Track Circuit Block wasn't extended to cover the whole line? Is it...

    Best Real Ale Trains (UK)?

I can fully recommend the real ale trains on the Llangollen Railway, having participated (to excess) last Saturday. Very friendly and efficient and a super selection of local ales. I believe they run several times a year, leaving at 18.30, two return trips, back at 21.30. Details are on their...

    Merseyrail Daysaver

The price is indeed £4.20. However the fare before the January 'increase' was £4.50. This reduction was advertised on posters as being a special offer until (from memory) the end of March. So expect the price to rise then back to £4.50 or more likely somewhat higher. Good value for money whatever.

Did British Rail ever do ticket wallets?

Somewhere I still have a Voyager ticket wallet, the railcard not the train! Anyone remember those? Memory a bit hazy, but issued at Stoke on Trent booking off in person only and valid for half price off peak tickets anywhere in the UK. Generated some funny looks and furtive phone calls if...
