Thanks for all the help with these tickets. I have had it confirmed by DB that I will need additional tickets with my FIP coupons. I will need to buy a ticket that will take me to the station listed as the border crossing and can us the coupons from there. This will add a small cost to the...
I see..... This travel malarkey is a bit more complicated than originally thought. I'll give them a call tomorrow and double check, they basically said as an obb run service the coupons would be valid on their trains.
Thanks for that guys, I'll have to double check that then. :-?
When I phoned DB to book other tickets I asked about OBB coupons and they said they were valid on Railjet services. I even asked specifically about the services that cross borders, I plan to use them on Zurich - Innsbruck, Salzburg...
I checked with DB when buying my tickets and they said it was to do with the operator but may be different due to the situation. I'll be travelling from Zurich to Salzburg on the Railjet which is operated by OBB and my coupons are valid on these trains. Might be different as it is one operator...
In a couple of weeks time I will be traveling to Vienna by train. One of the days I have planned is a day trip to Munich from Salzburg, where I will be staying for a few days.
I will be travelling on OBB FIP/Priv Coupons so can use OBB for free. Is there any timetables/websites out there that...
I booked my Caledonian Sleeper tickets at Southampton ticket office and was able to get the PRIV rate tickets there. IIRC I paid £24.50 to Edinburgh and £29 from Inverness back to London.
But if the OP has a Brockenhurst to Southampton single then this will work in the barriers. Then the gateline/revenue staff are none the wiser .
Do not leave the train at Southampton without buying the single ticket...
I can't see the guard having a problem with this to be honest, the company has still got all the fares due and all it saves in inconvenience for the passenger.
You could buy the single from Brockenhurst to Southampton from the office at Waterloo or ask the guard as he comes through the train.
One of my favourites:
Pax: Excuse me, *pointing to departure board* does that train stop at Chichester?
Me: Yes
Pax: Do I need to get off the train at all?
Me: Yes, when it gets to Chichester!
There are no SWT advance tickets to/from Southampton Central because of the Megatrain tickets available. Advance tickets are available from Brockenhurst and most stations all the way down to Weymouth, but as already stated these aren't valid for travel to/from Southampton Central. I work at...
You will be asked several questions and IIRC they are along these lines. I sat the same interview last year.....
When have you dealt with a particularly rude of difficult customer?
When have you gone that extra mile to help a customer?
When have you had a difficult conversation with a work...
Not the clearest of pictures but this was posted a while back on a friends Facebook page.

Here's a rather rubbish photo of the event taking place. Taken from my phone on the overbridge at Fratton Station.
I figured it was some sort of training exercise as they were setting it up yesterday. From what I could see the 159 was set up on the goods loop in the yard and a couple of...
