The cameras are the same, yes; however, the pantograph lights have been changed. The ones on 379 are massive but the ones on 377/7 are low profile. Equally blinding though....
FGW have are not procuring new trains, at least not for now. A little birdie mentioned that if the bid was still on, they would have gone for Aventra.

This screen grab was taken during testing. There's no third rail in the test pen.
Regarding location, the track debris illuminator is close to the ground, but the TD camera is on the non-driving side of the cab - to the top right corner. Picture below.
