You're absolutely right! I created those headcodes. They are both all stoppers. 8A03 LST - SNF and 8A07 SNF - LAST.
If you're using a "real" headcode, if there are any non-stop stations, they are greyed out on the stopping pattern screen. Select that station, click "Add Station" to the bottom...
It is possible for the driver to add stations in using the HMI screen.
There are manual codes the driver can enter for "all stopper" services in case of disruptions. These do show the correct stopping pattern.
There are no "final destination only" headcodes.
I've put in logic wherein if I don't receive new information from the wayside for 300 seconds, the page will be hidden :-)
The height of the screen is around 130mm; 4 lines will make the screen look way to busy!
The fix is being rolled out as we speak.
Feedback taken on-board :)
Proposed to stakeholders.
Should be rolled out in the next two months.
The big text is needed for compliance to PRM-TSI I'm afraid - currently 33.5mm high.
Not up to me I'm afraid :(
I'm only a lowly PIS Engineer...
From a passenger point of view, can someone highlight the 'obvious' issues with PIS that appear in service? It is difficult to guage exact issues with feedback from drivers and not everything is obvious to a driver (e.g. visual). Note, the PA feedback issue will be rectified soon.
This is being fixed as we speak. This issue is caused because of automatic gain control microphones being used. The mic is increasing the gain of not just the driver's voice but also the announcement from the saloon behind the driver... Hence the feedback.
This is to do with synchronization. The static pages last around 4 seconds each. Audio is slightly shorter. The gap ensures that the audio plays along with the corresponding visual message.
Continuous audio is more suitable for scrolling text, however with page-scrolling static text, I needed...
Happy to take suggestions, however bear in mind that content is controlled by TfL.
Next update will fix audio issues, remove "via Stratford" for westbound service and remove "Northern" from list of LST interchanges.
No problem at all! Started off on the Bombardier Grad scheme, ended up in the comfort systems team at the end of the scheme. (Systems Engineer for PIS and Train to Wayside systems)
I have a background in electronics and embedded systems engineering, so yes embedded systems would be considered...
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
