As I have said, the 242 is getting brand new vehicles which will arrive early next year. Streetlites have yet to be 100% confirmed but if they do arrive then they will serve the 242 until the new vehicles arrive then no doubt these will move over to the 266.
No point going back and forth. the...
I think you are right as I heard that today also but I am guessing its a temporary measure to get the B10s retired specially as the B10s mostly run on the 241/242 with the odd one on the 266.
Guessing once the new 242 buses arrive early next year then this might see the streetlites moved onto...
Ok got it confirmed today that service 242 is still getting brand new e200 mmcs but they won't arrive until early next year.
241 also confirmed with e200 mmcs. **This Year**
No problem cheers for your info, as said previously I only post what I have been told by someone who is currently employed in an office. The end of the day, its great to see Lanarkshire finally getting new stock that it has deserved.
I would say roughly about 10 are in service between...
I only post what I have been told by a reliable source. Things may change which results in stuff in mention not materialising.
241 - Vehicles due to replace the B10s off the route. **Streetlites currently being tested during busy periods of the day to monitor capacity** - Inspectors have been...
The 241 is getting streetlites only 100%. The 32 e200s will be split between the 242/65/34,34a/
The 241 has also been running a few streetlites for the past few days also which is another tail tale sign to make sure 100% they are suitable for the route in terms of capacity. But again the...
240 - not heard what the change is and honestly couldn't guess unless the dupes are being registered to start/stop at Motherwell.
241 **Rumoured to get the streetlites from the 34**
242 will still receive brand new e200mmcs.
Revenue Protection officers are always out in force with FIG but yes its a problem with all companies as its hard to determine when a teenager looks older/younger than 16 and give you a d.o.b that makes them 15. By the looks of it, McGills drivers have not been challenging those with incorrect...
love these forums for their little rumours. Last time il be posting any info here :)
also, ALX400s are not being scrapped anytime soon. all Presidents will be first ;)
I honestly don't know where you got that info from but the 242 defo ain't getting new buses. The main focus this year on new buses will be city centre operations only. Overtown will be getting a few ex Kernow Darts 2 of which will replace the Marshall darts.
People need to remember that not every single FIG bus that operates in the city centre needs to meet euro 6. That deadline is 2022. 75 new buses are due before the end of the year and no doubt any shortfalls of meeting the set target for this year, buses will be drafted in from other area's to...
alx400s will not be retiring this year and again may survive next year again depending on what investment Glasgow gets next year.
We (Caley depot) received 4 from Dumbarton due to the B10s from Aberdeen not having the safety screens installed on them which are a must for GCC workings. Not got a...
Glasgow is split remember no1 & no2 and unfortunately, I don't have any information regarding their profits but they won't be great considering all the changes coming into effect at FIG.
In terms of new buses coming it is 75 in total for 2018. 25 E400MMCs have been confirmed and ordered. the...
