    Arriva New Logo

    It's quite fresh and welcoming but a little cold though. The present livery is worn out and Arriva do need an image makeover but that new logo is confused, complicated and very messy.

    Thamesdown Transport taken over by Go Ahead

    Blackpool Transport seems to have turned a corner with the massive investment in 30 E400s this year plus the orders over the last 2 years. I'd say Halton and Warrington are 2 to watch at present.

    Northern franchise awarded to Arriva.

    Missed oppurtunity is that there is no mention of reopning the Burscough Curves opening up more oppurtunity for connecting Southport directly to the West coast Main Line at Preston.

    MTL was purchased by Arriva in April 2000. One of the original bidders for Gillmoss was Go Ahead. Stagecoach did bid after being left at altar basically by MTL as they thought a gentleman's agreement was in place to purchase it. In the event Arriva sold to a team of ex MTL management who set up GTL.
