How reliable is 1M81, 0612 TPE Edinburgh to Manchester?

Well, he now has the information to make an informed decision. I shall report back if he was successful.

How reliable is 1M81, 0612 TPE Edinburgh to Manchester?

He's never been to the Isle of Man before. He's now suggesting getting the later 06:52 Avanti to Preston/Wigan, changing for Lime Street and running to Princes Dock from there. The later train allows him to catch a connecting train from Prestonpans. He's only having one night in Douglas so...

How reliable is 1M81, 0612 TPE Edinburgh to Manchester?

As the title suggests: a colleague is trying to connect with the Isle of Man Steam Packet ferry from Liverpool to Douglas. His first train would be 1M81, the 06:12 from Edinburgh to Manchester Airport. He would be alighting at Preston connecting to Liverpool Lime Street, then Liverpool James...

Will I be prosecuted if I walked off from inspector

I get that. But you are probably over thinking the part about the inspector not caring about the passenger being overcarried. They, the inspecto,r is not causing this, but rather the passenger is probably wasting time to deliberately delay giving details until their stop to avoid further...

Will I be prosecuted if I walked off from inspector

Although is the OP also entitled to not pay for their journey? It seems to me that the OP was using the usual fillibustering technique to avoid giving their details as required by law.

Just curious - Berwick upon Tweed to Galashiels

Yes. The ticket destination is Galashiels via Berwick, and the routeing via point on the ticket is via Edinburgh.

Just curious - Berwick upon Tweed to Galashiels

After the Borders Line (partially) reopened a decade ago I submitted a three page essay on reorganising the various bus add ons to non rail served Borders towns. It fell on deaf ears. They are still a bit of a shambles. As the weather improves I expect to see a few foreign tourists proudly...

    Network Rail Staff Railcard Query

Do you get discounts on rover tickets? It won't save much money, if any, but there is a Freedom of the North East four in eight day rover for about £33 (valid from Berwick/Carlisle - so tickets to/from whichever also required). This may give greater flexibility if required.

use of 16-25 railcard in Scotland

You can, however, hold a 16-25 discounted standard ticket* and upgrade to 1st on board by way of the InterCity 1st supplement @ £15. *certain cheaper and offer tickets are technically excluded from this, but if there is plenty space many conductors will overlook that and offer the supplement in...

What about getting your ticket to a destination between Inverness & Aberdeen? Would that affect your routeing possibilities?

Railcards users to face additional checks when buying tickets

On our machines the scan does absolutely nothing, so there's no real point in scanning them.

    Fire at Glasgow Central (08/03/26)

Correct we dont, I suspect Glasgow Central guards don't have it either. With hindsight maybe it was unfortunate to rationalise the interchange facilities at Holytown - it once was a major hub.

    That may well happen.

    Fire at Glasgow Central (08/03/26)

In theory you should not be affected. However, AFAIAA, the Scottish based crews for these services book on at Glasgow Central - so it's not a certainty. That said I would expect alternative book on arrangements to be made to ensure service provision.

Prosecution threatened after purchase of child fare

No, the evidence is your history of incorrect ticket purchasing and your statement about that. Whilst it is a legal requirement to provide a correct address, nothing will turn on that if you correct that error at your earliest opportunity - i.e. now. No need to elaborate further, a simple...
