Theres a reason why it won't be popular, and it's ignored by BML2. It's not where people want to go. Gatwick for example is a major employer for Sussex and there is a lot of airport/airline staff who travel to/from Gatwick to the South Coast.
There's a plan for the BML and it isn't BML2. As that fails to deal with the main issue, the overcrowding from stations between West Coastway/Preston Park and London.
Don't confuse bodyshell as the be all and end all of. There a massive different between tech inside the train you won't see. They may look the similar but the tech running them is massively different.
The 377 4 car fleet is operated as one single fleet with only the DV diagrams (that doesn't cover all the DV 377s btw) being different so no. The 377/2 should be rarely seen on these diagrams.

They moved Wednesday night (all six did that night IIRC). They were leaving the depot as my train home passed. Only 387124 is around the BML at present.
That's because it used the same database as the 377/5 so was already in existence. The GN database its completely brand new (even the 377/5 on introduction weren't wholly new for parts south of the river).
By May 2018 timetable change, the Brighton to London Bridge service will be extended to Cambridge. All services will be 700s by this point.
However the current weekday timetable is tied to Southern services so needs a big re-write that is part of next year. The weekends are a different...
New software update went a tad late. Fix incoming.
Because now you get fined if your not announcing/displaying on for blind/deaf people. Might be funny joke to see the message up but if you have problems, ie your blind, then all the PA announcements in the world won't help. And post 2020...
