The X10 also stops at Gateshead Interchange so it wouldn't be a terrible idea getting the bus all the way if the timings line up. Not terribly scenic but a fair bit of motorway running.
Considering you now have 2tph on Northern, plus Grand Central empties, plus freight, you're already pushing it for how many more services you can get down the Sunderland Line. Considerable work has gone on behind the scenes to get a sixth train in every hour, which is the maximum Nexus have the...
We weren't openly told anything about the issue until well past 7 so everybody will have been in their berths until at least then. I gather they separated the two portions, fumbled about, smacked them back together then had to get the Glasgow loco to run around.
It wasn't actively given as an option either when the TM spoke us individually or made announcements but it sounded like the couple in the berth next to me were doing that. I could hear the TM telling them to "be quick".
I can't fault the Delay Repay process (approved in about 15 minutes though...
Its less "finally noticing" and more being able to make it work given the platforming constraints at St Pancras.
I can't reveal too much other than that its to do with route proving rather than anything to do with EMR nabbing any Azumas.
Lowlander is off to Edinburgh in its entirety this morning - loco they've sent has failed by the sounds of it and so they've nabbed the one off the Glasgow portion.
Naturally not a quick process, so we're still all sat at Carstairs.
When the 1816 reaches Inverkeithing it is right on the tail of a service from Leven to Edinburgh so I suspect patronage would be quite low - though looking at the path it could be a passenger service if you really wanted it to be, no pathing stops in loops or the like.
Only stickler might be...
There is a MK4 set in service as we speak:
https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:C02088/2026-05-26/detailed#allox_id=1
There are only two sets available for service due to the heat as far as I can see but not a withdrawal.
That is Greater Anglia moquette - those seats date from when regional services in Norfolk/Suffolk had First Class, and from when that unit worked for Greater Anglia.
The units with First ScotRail moquette indeed also have First Class seating as a hangover from there. EMR Regional services have...
Indeed I recall going into a supermarket in Cologne in Nov 2017 and was baffled to see the person in front of me writing a cheque! The cashier seemed quite shocked at my use of contactless straight after
Post-covid this has changed quite drastically but off the tourist trail its still...
Issue in that area was due to electrical supply issues with electric trains initially running wrong line southbound from Ferryhill South Jn to Darlington. This was subsequently stopped and trains were requested to run on GUs or diesel engines. The exception was the IC225 set on the 1827 off...
It was Signature previously - IIRC it was Dish for a while due to the need to hire another Inverness chef but this is long since resolved.
Usually the Inverness crew work the southbound down to Newcastle, have a break then work the northbound all the way back.
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
