Let's face it, it's going to be almost all of them at this point.

Stopgap options to cover for delays to introduction of Class 175 for GWR?

The 897s are very late, normal late plus Valencia flooding impact.

Lewes derailment - Thursday 13th August

Really hard to know if it's a cause or consequence in those photos though.

Possible new station at Thorpe Park (Leeds): consultation open

I suspect that is bad visuals. They always said they would build two platforms on a four track alignment, with then a temporary platform to serve the current, York bound line, with bridges between. Suspect the visualisations have just kept the track that isn't being built.

Possible new station at Thorpe Park (Leeds): consultation open

No Micklefield will remain two track, it is a long way beyond the M1 overbridge.

Possible new station at Thorpe Park (Leeds): consultation open

Agreed. What that gives you effectively is a dynamic passing loop with two stations. Which should (I think) give you time to pass two fast trains. If they run the fasts as hot behind the stoppers as they do now you should get two past them (the time I lose sat on the Airport services behind the...

East-West Rail (EWR) countdown to entry into service

If this was Northern where everything is currently operated with a full blown guard, then I think it would be a different viewpoint. But Chiltern are proposing to use an operational method that they use elsewhere on their network already, and have done for years, and no staff are proposed to...

Trains all at a stand in the Manchester area... (Thursday afternoon 06AUG2026)

I think some of that is scale of operations. Northern Manchester crews generally got home. Whereas I am aware of a substantial amount of TPE crews who were lodged unexpectedly as no taxis could be found as they were after the more lucrative stranded passengers. Having been rescued from...

Trains all at a stand in the Manchester area... (Thursday afternoon 06AUG2026)

Gave up getting from Manchester to Leeds and went to a friend's for tea and waited for a lift. Advice from the fleet engineer who was out in hi Vis at Victoria trying to help was to not try with a 1 year old and a pram if I had a plan B as anything was going to be horrifically overcrowded...

Those extend either side beyond the station wider than they need to though.

Possible new station at Thorpe Park (Leeds): consultation open

Yes I noticed the new overbridge east of cross gates is being set back significantly from its existing abutment position on the north side.

Possible new station at Thorpe Park (Leeds): consultation open

From Cross Gates to about the M1 over bridge is the maximum it would be. Allowing trains stopping at Thorpe Park and Cross Gates to be overtaken.

Possible new station at Thorpe Park (Leeds): consultation open

If it gets done yes. 1785963800 I've seen passive provision throughout. If you look from Garforth to the M1 generally they are either four track portals (at Cross Gates) or twin track cantilevers. The portal foundations are set much further back than needed, with more expense cutting out the...

    The failure of Northern Connect

It's run by 158s and is the first to go when all the units start dropping in hot weather. Now the massive heatwave has ended it's gone back to being fairly reliable.

Transpennine Route Upgrade and Electrification updates

Wires have appeared overnight through Garforth. Either that or they happened another day and I just didn't notice yesterday.
