For the avoidance of doubt and those who may not know the reference of CP above - this closure is for passenger services. Freight into Park Royal is unaffected and the future use of Wycombe Siding for HS2 construction traffic remains available.
Network Rail will sever the track near to the junction with the Great Western main line to make way for a conveyor belt that HS2 will be utilising to remove spoil material from the Old Oak Common station site.

Yes, badly phrased by myself earlier. Chiltern looking to go into OOC but not through to Paddington. Acton-Northolt line will have to be re-doubletracked which shouldn't be too much bother.
There are no plans in place to restore the line once the conveyor belt has gone however this may change as the Phase 1a element of the HS2 project develops over the next 8 years.
Network Rail now saying the Acton-Northolt line will close on New Year's Eve this year and severed just west of Old Oak Common West Junction. This will be to allow installation of a conveyor belt which will remove spoil from the HS2 Old Oak Common station site.
