The Scottish Government/Transport Scotland says InterCity is better than what's there now
As the seats in the 385s aren't as good as those of the current stock* , I'd go with their expert opinion, and say the 385s are inferior to the IC225.
*subjective opinion.
Well, BR CrossCountry, Virgin CrossCountry and Arriva XC have done that with the 0630ish from Dundee to Edinburgh and beyond, so, yes, until there's a 5 car HST that will provide similar capacity.
In the same time, legacy carrier BA has swallowed up bmi, removed duplication and reduced the size of aircraft flying. No 757s (sadly), a lot less 767 usage.
Manually Operated, as opposed to manually controlled I guess would have been better wording, but I think it was fairly obvious what it was referring to :)
I think there is space for an "All the Stations" featuring purely on the actual journey and what it's like to be a traveller on the network in 2017, and a Vlog of visiting some more obscure places of Britain in 2017.
I think the current blend of both works in some videos like the S&C one, but...
I agree, the best maps are the BR maps, and the ones that contained the detailed information on the reverse.
It tells a story when All The Stations (supported by RDG) still uses the pdfs thankfully still available on the web archive.
They just needed updated, not redrawn.
